Forest Stage (森林ステージ, Forest Stage), also known as Recon Base Ruins, is Sting Chameleon's stage in Mega Man X and Maverick Hunter X.

Description[]

Mega Man X / Maverick Hunter X[]

The forest is a front-line base heavily used in the Maverick uprising. The stage takes place on a rocky path throughout said forest, including a large cavern full of falling stones - going above the cave and defeating RT-55J will stop them and clear the way. There are also trees which Mad Peckers pull Creepers out of. After the cave, there is a muddy area that can be traversed using Ride Armor.

After Launch Octopus' defeat, the forest is flooded with water from the ocean, giving the Amenhoppers a place to swim and completely flooding the underground area of the stage.

	Life Up
	After defeating Launch Octopus to flood the stage, descend the pit before the cave. Wall kick through the rocks, then dash-jump to the right to find the Life Up on a ledge.
	Body Parts
	Before entering the cave, dash-jump and wall kick to reach the top of the cave. Defeat RT-55J and the capsule will appear.

X Mode:

	Life Up
	After defeating Launch Octopus to flood the stage, descend the pit before the cave. Wall kick through the rocks, then dash-jump to the right to find the Life Up on a ledge.
	Arm Parts
	Before entering the cave, dash-jump and wall kick to reach the top of the cave. Defeat RT-55J and the capsule will appear.

Vile Mode:

	Life Up
	Use Quick Homesick to retrieve the Life Up hidden in the tree at the very start of the stage. Alternatively, stand on an Axe Max's tree projectile and jump to reach the Life Up.
	Sub Tank
	Use Quick Homesick to reach the Sub Tank sitting on a ledge in the ceiling of the cave. Alternatively, jump out of a Ride Armor (found above the cave entrance) to reach the ledge.

Trivia[]

• As seen in the Rockman X trailer in Mega Man X Legacy Collection, this stage's Life Up was originally in a different location. It instead sat in a hole in the mountain, where a 1-Up is located in the final game.
• A portion of the Forest Stage is incorporated into Neon Tiger's stage in Mega Man Xtreme 2.
