Lighting (ライトニング Raitoningu) is a special technique that Zero learns after defeating Wire Sponge in Mega Man Xtreme 2. By selecting this technique from the subscreen, Zero sends down eight lightning bolts that rain down in random spots on the screen, with the first one always appearing above Zero.
Lightning is the weakness for Overdrive Ostrich and Launch Octopus, and in Boss Attack Mode, Armored Armadillo and, despite being electric-themed, Spark Mandrill.
