He is Marduk Helstrom
Post-Archive Admin Addendum: Verdict overturned. We do not speculate a character's last name when conjecture proves different. {{{sig}}}
I'm curious, what is the exact source of the name "Marduk Helstrom"? I don't recall it ever spoken in the show, he is only credited as "Papa" in the final episode and it seems weird to combine the name of the demon with the last name of the Human body that he inhabited. HBK123 (talk) 19:12, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- It is pre-release conjecture. "Helstrom" is the family name, and therefore, assigned to be his too as "Kurios" was nowhere to be seen. Then, as he lacked a first name in any pre-release information given, his name was assigned to be "Marduk" like in the comics.Shabook (talk) 09:00, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- I see. I personally disagree with that interpretation: as man possessed by a demon he would have both a human name (Helstrom) and a demonic one. I won't try to push it though. HBK123 (talk) 09:42, 2 November 2020 (UTC)
- So now that the show has been released, could we perhaps re-evaluate the situation? It feels weird to me too that this demon gets the Helstrom surname since he isn't even human and originally doesn't belong in the Helstrom family. And why are we even guessing that the character names from the MCU are the same as the ones from the comics? MalchonC (talk) 16:27, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

How do we know that "Papa" from the final episode is the Helstrom father? - —Preceding unsigned comment added by LambentEnigma (message wall • contribs)

Nomating for Page Move/Rename[]

- He is Marduk Helstrom. No further source indicates otherwise {{{sig}}}
Nomating this page be moved/renamed from "Marduk Helstrom" to "Papa" (or some alternative). Nowhere in the show is the character named Marduk nor any variation of Helstrom (in fact, they don't even explicitly say he is Daimon and Ana's father). Even in the archived discussions above, it is admitted that this article was named based on "pre-release conjecture". Now that the series is long out, I think it is appropriate to revisit the naming of this article.--Uncleben (talk) 01:09, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- It's conjecture. - Raff • Message Wall • Contributions 01:26, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Pre-release conjecture that, with all due respect, has no merit now that the show is out, though. If it was mentioned anywhere that he was the Helstroms' father, sure conjecture that he is Marduk I could accept, but not only is no name given, no relationship is even hinted at.--Uncleben (talk) 01:45, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
- He is repeatedly referred to as their father, a major part of the story is that the Helstroms believe Basar and crew to be paving the way for their father’s return. -Jessica3801 (talk) 02:01, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
