The Liberation of Allied Prisoners of War was a mission to infiltrate the weapons facility run by HYDRA to liberate members of the 107th Infantry Regiment, carried out by Captain Carter.

Following a successful mission in Berlin, Captain Carter was appointed to participate in field missions against HYDRA. With the Tesseract in his possession, Howard Stark used it to power the prototype battle armor that was given to Steve Rogers, so he could participate as well. The SSR obtained intel about the 107th Infantry Regiment being captured by HYDRA in Azzano. Prisoners of war were located at weapons facility in Austria, ran by HYDRA. Carter was tasked with participating in a liberation of the prisoners from HYDRA.[1]

Captain Carter arrived at Austria where she located facility where the prisoners were held. She managed to steal a HYDRA soldier's motorcycle, knocking the soldier off to drive to the facility and break into the area. Covering herself from enemy fire with her shield, Carter took down multiple soldiers before breaking into the cells where the 107th Infantry Regiment were held. After confirming that Bucky Barnes was alive, Carter broke all of them out of the prison and exited the place.
Prisoners of war are saved by Captain Carter and the HYDRA Stomper
Carter, Barnes and a group of soldiers engaged in a firefight with HYDRA soldiers, however, they were pinned down by tanks. Carter managed to deflect a missile with her shield before taking cover with other soldiers. She contacted the command and requested air support, so Steve Rogers in his battle armor emerged onto the battlefield. With Carter's help, Rogers successfully destroyed all HYDRA tanks, putting an end to HYDRA facility and liberating the prisoners.[1]

Captain Carter and Steve Rogers (dubbed as "HYDRA Stomper") joined forces with Dum Dum Dugan and other soldiers liberated in Austria, forming the Howling Commandos. Together, they carried out multiple attacks on HYDRA facilities, overturning the tide of war. During the mission to capture Red Skull, the Commandos attacked the Schnellzug EB912 train. However, HYDRA organized an ambush, putting explosives at the train, resulting in the capture of Rogers.[1]
