Potter was a prostitute of the Stokes Crime Family, primarily Pistol Pete. She went by the name Sunflower. She also met his niece, Mariah Stokes, whom she referred to as "May May."[1]

Potter was arrested and incarcerated in Ryker's Island, and felt that Mama Mabel did not do right by her. When Rosalie Carbone sent inmates after Mariah Stokes to kill her, Potter and two of her crew rescued Stokes with the intention of being paid to protect her. Stokes seemingly agreed, then asked for a knife to carve her name into the body of one of her attackers. Using the knife, she slit Potter's throat and took over her gang.[1]
