- "Look, these gods aren't gonna help, but that Thunderbolt, I think that might be of use. Jane, you go right. Thor, you go left. We bum rush him, take the bolt. Ding dong."
"Alright, let's go get it." - âValkyrie and Mighty Thor[src]
The Escape from Omnipotence City was a successful escape attempt by Thor, Valkyrie, Mighty Thor and Korg after Zeus declared that Thor should stay at Omnipotence City to avoid him potentially leading Gorr the God Butcher to the place.
Background[]
Thor, Jane Foster, Korg, and Valkyrie formed a makeshift team to confront Gorr the God Butcher, who had just attacked on New Asgard and kidnapped several children. Learning that Gorr was located in the Shadow Realm through Axl, Heimdall's son, Thor and Valkyrie realized their best chance was to recruit an army of gods to combat Gorr and end his threat.
The group turned a tour guide vehicle, the Aegir into a chariot pulled by Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder, in order to serve as a conduit for the Bifrost that Stormbreaker created, and travelled to Omnipotence City, where the Asgardians knew that all kinds of gods gathered.[2]
Escape[]
Once they reached Omnipotence City, Valkyrie would give the group the garbs of the gods of emotions, before attending the meeting in Omnipotence City. While attending after Zeus arrived to discuss the gods next celebration, Thor would accidently draw attention to himself, making Zeus point him out and address him face to face in the colloseum. Despite Thor asking for Zeus to aid them in fighting against Gorr, Zeus would mock him by showing off and then flinging away the Thunderbolt declaring that he wasn't helping after quietly admitting that he was afraid of Gorr. Zeus would tell the stadium that Gorr would never reach Eternity to leviate their worries, which Valkyrie would explain who Eternity was to Foster quietly.
Realizing that Zeus, his hero, was a coward, Thor would try to pull out of the restraints Zeus put on him. However, Thor's allies would reveal themselves, and aid Thor against the Spartans. However, Zeus would use his lightning powers on Korg, destroying him, which would anger Thor to throw Thunderbolt through Zeus' chest, causing him to fall in the chasm between his stand and platform. However, the heroes found Korg's face which was still alive, and secured his face on Valkyrie's head. And luckily, Korg, after struggling for a bit would summon Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder to save them, with Valkyrie grabbing Thunderbolt on her way out after flirting with a Zeusette. Afterwards, the group would have the goats pull the Aegir away from Omnipotence City.[2]
Aftermath[]
Thor was still resolved in stopping Gorr despite being let down by the selfishness of Zeus and the other gods at Omnipotence City. Thor and Jane Foster connected on how she had handled herself during the escape, but as they began to rekindle their relationship, Foster abruptly revealed that she had cancer. Thor and Foster battled Gorr twice after this, and by using Thunderbolt, Stormbreaker and MjĂžlnir they managed to destroy All-Black the Necrosword and eventually convince Gorr to give up on his revenge and instead bring his daughter back, who would be taken care by Thor.
Meanwhile Zeus, who survived being stabbed with Thunderbolt, was angered how heroes were now worshipped instead of gods, leading to him command his son Hercules to go after Thor, and strike the fear of the gods' wrath to the mortals.[2]
