Biography[]

Destruction of Castle Rock Tower[]

After HYDRA had found the location of the Tesseract in Norway, Johann Schmidt executed an invasion of the town of Tønsberg and a raid on the Castle Rock Tower. Holding the Church Keeper at gunpoint, Schmidt told him the story of the Tesseract, touching a mural of Yggdrasil and finding the secret compartment containing the Tesseract. The Church Keeper told Schmidt that it was just a legend, but Schmidt found the compartment as the Church Keeper looked in horror. Eventually, the Church Keeper was killed by Schmidt's men.^[1]

The Church Keeper was dedicated to protecting the Tesseract from any trespassers and thieves, willing to sacrifice his life rather than giving up the Tesseract's location to Johann Schmidt. However, he remained fearful as he had some idea of the Tesseract's true power.

• Tesseract: Being the guardian of the Tesseract for many years, the Church Keeper was responsible for keeping the Tesseract hidden and safe from any trespassers. However, Johann Schmidt was able to find and take the Tesseract from him.
