History[]
Reunion with Bucky Barnes[]
- "Get out of my house!"
- âIsaiah Bradley to Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson[src]
Isaiah Bradley and Eli Bradley began living in the Bradley Residence, and were visited by Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson. They knocked on the door, and Eli opened, insisting that Isaiah was not there. Barnes asked Eli to tell Isaiah it was the person he fought in Goyang, and Eli went to deliver the message while Barnes explained his past with Isaiah to Wilson. Isaiah agreed to speak to Barnes and Wilson, so Eli let him in.
Barnes and Wilson entered, and Barnes introduced Isaiah Bradley as a hero who HYDRA feared. Bradley explained that he simply wanted to see Barnes, and Barnes insisted to Bradley that he was no longer a killer. However, Bradley said that one cannot simply decide that for themselves, with the exception of people of like Barnes. Barnes told Bradley that there were more people like them in the world, upsetting Bradley. Bradley through an item into a wall and it stuck, revealing to Wilson that he was a Super Soldier. Bradley tells Wilson and Barnes that he had been imprisoned an experimented on for thirty years, and that even HYDRA was not done with them. Upset, Bradley kicked the two out of his house.[1]
Heart-to-Heart with Sam Wilson[]
Sam Wilson later returned to the Bradley Residence with Captain America's Shield. Eli Bradley at first stopped Wilson, but eventually told him that Isaiah Bradley was in the back. Wilson went to talk to Bradley, who told Wilson not to uncover the shield. Wilson asked to understand Bradley's perspective, but Bradley simply explained that any black man who did not already understand was blind. He explained to Wilson that he used to have hope until he saw the Tuskegee Airmen return home and face racism. He took Wilson inside and explained his past with the Super Soldier Serum to him, telling him that no self-respecting black man would want the title of Captain America. Wilson left with the shield, dismayed at the revelations.[2]
Bradley and his grandson later watched the news as Wilson delivered a speech, having decided to take on the mantle of Captain America.
Wilson visited later, and the pair discussed Wilson's choice to take on the mantle. Isaiah expressed pride in Wilson's choice, and they agreed that it would not be easy for Wilson. Wilson asked to show Isaiah something, and Eli asked to go as well. Wilson left with the Bradleys and showed them that he had gotten the Smithsonian Institution to create an exhibit for Bradley and his story.[3]
