A White Mage is a character from the Final Fantasy series who has made a few appearances in a few Mario spinoffs, the first being Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and then in Mario Sports Mix. It is an unlockable character in both games.
Biology[]
She resembles Lenna Charlotte Tycoon's (in-game) appearance as a White Mage in Final Fantasy V and Shirma from the Chocobo games due to their similar pink hair and green eyes
A White Mage is seen to be a female adult human with fair skin, forest green eyes, and an average build. She has swift pink hair with a bang obscuring its right eye, similar to Rosalina. She has lipstick the same color in pink. In Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Mario Sports Mix, a White Mage is seen to be wearing a long-sleeve hooded minidress with scarlet red triangular patterns surrounding the sleeves and skirt area. Her head is equipped with a silver tiara on that has a scarlet red oval jewel soldered in the center, a red choker necklace, crystal turquoise earrings on both ears, a crystal turquoise hexagonal brooch, and scarlet red square heels.
A White Mage also has an alternate palette in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, where her hair is purple. Its hooded shorts dress remains white, while the triangle patterns and heels become magenta, while the brooch is ruby red.
In Mario Sports Mix, a White Mage has an alternate palette where her hair becomes a pale eggshell white color and the eyes are crimson red. Her dress turns bright icy white, while the triangular patterns on the sleeves and skirt area are ultra pure white and become somewhat rounded. The brooch is ruby red, while the earrings are teal. The heels are silver, and the Mage's legs are cloaked in white lace stockings.
Behind the scenes[]
Portrayals[]
White Mage is voiced by Noriko Iwahara in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, but Bianca Allen takes over the role in Mario Sports Mix.
Trivia[]
- The second White Mage outfit in Sports Mix resembles Rosalina.
- Ironically, Rosalina has a pink-and-white costume either based of Fire Peach or the White Mage in Super Smash Bros. series.
- There is a screenshot of Rosalina and Pichu that references the White Mage.
- It is speculated that the White Mage's design may have somewhat inspired Rosalina's design, especially since Hoops 3-on-3 released a year before Super Mario Galaxy.
- Ironically, Rosalina has a pink-and-white costume either based of Fire Peach or the White Mage in Super Smash Bros. series.
- It should be noted that in both of her Mario appearances, White Mage participates in the events while wearing high heels. This isn't a first, as both Peach and Daisy have done so in Mario Party minigames from Mario Party series prior to White Mage's debut. She is the first, however, to do so in a sports-centered game, since joined by Rosalina not having an outfit change for Mario Golf: World Tour.
- Psycho Kamek's clothes greatly resemble White Mage's.
