Malboros are mutated plant monsters from the Final Fantasy games. They have made a crossover appearance in Mario Hoops 3-on-3, as the signature feature of the Malboro Garden court. Here, there are two Malboros, one on each side, who have a basketball hoop attached to their head, in which the basketball must go into, similar to Petey Piranha in the Daisy Garden court.

Malboros have had varying depictions in the Final Fantasy franchise. In Mario Hoops 3-on-3, they have a green body, a mouth with sharp teeth, and five orange eyes on stalks protruding from its head. Unlike most of its appearances in the Final Fantasy games in general, Malboros do not possess any tentacles.
Behavior[]
Malboro's signature ability is Bad Breath, in which it releases a toxic gas. In Mario Hoops 3-on-3 in particular, if a character comes near its Bad Breath, they are knocked down and lose speed.
