My name is Spottedstar and I'm the current running administrator of this wiki. I'm also the creator/head manager of all the wiki's designing, graphics, social media and email.

There are two parts to my story of becoming a fan of the Kung Fu Panda franchise and an active user/admin on this wiki, both of which have been documented in the links below:

Site design
Every visual aspect of this wiki (color scheme, background, logo, header, etc.) was designed or improved upon by me. For some of the templates and styling codes, however, I've used a select few codes from other wikis and customized them to fit our wiki's needs, of which I've accredited to each one on their respective pages.
Tasks:
- Keep the wiki background up-to-date
- OFF-SEASON of significant franchise releases: The overall background image is typically changed on an annual basis, with the exception of our Halloween-themed background that we display every year all throughout October. Some extra details of the background may change on a seasonal basis, like the tapestry and lanterns.
- ON-SEASON: The background is themed for any significant upcoming releases in the KFP franchise, which is then typically kept for more than a year. Some minor changes to the background may occur on a seasonal basis, like colors or objects.
- Keep the wiki logo and header up-to-date
- Typically changed on a seasonal basis (with the exception of upcoming releases). See examples below.
- Customize the site's look with the wiki's CSS page
- Add extra functions and features with the wiki's JavaScript page

Like the site design elements, I create all of the wiki's graphics. These graphics are used either on-site or off-site via social media to enhance the experience of our wiki's content, as well as create an aesthetic and professional appeal.

I am the head manager of all of the wiki's social media accounts and email. I work alongside one other manager, Zaralith, in keeping in touch with our wiki community off-site, meeting new fans, sharing wiki content, and increasing/sustaining hype of the Kung Fu Panda fandom.

Why do I do this?
If it wasn't obvious from all of this material here on my profile, I have spent a great deal of my free time in the past 14 years, 6 months and 5 days since my joining dedicated to this wiki, during which I was still in school getting my degree, working part-time at multiple jobs, and also trying to keep my health up and my social life alive. And, for those who don't know, wikis on Wikia are run on a volunteer-only basis; I, nor anyone else, don't get paid a single penny for doing this. So why did I (and still continue to) do all of this? Does it really mean that much to me?
To put it simply: yes, yes it does.
I have such a great passion for the franchise and for the people of this wiki and fandom that I most definitely found it worth what little free time I had to manage this wiki and interact with the community. And I have loved (and still love) every single second of it. The people who edit/visit here are some really amazing people, and it's been such a privilege to meet and work with them over the years.
Along with the amazing experience I've had thus far, I've also grown quite attached to this wiki. It's become my child, in a way; I feel very protective of it, and I constantly feel the need to look after it.
It's my hope that I'll be able to continue doing stuff for this wiki and its community for as long as I possibly can. :)

FAQ
Here are a few questions that I keep occasionally getting on my Wall or elsewhere. Please do me the kind favor of reading through these first before messaging me.
Are you paid/hired to do this?
- Nope, no one gets paid (except for those working directly for Wikia, which I'm not), and no one has hired me. This wiki, and all others, are run on a volunteer-only basis, so I don't get paid a single penny for this. I do this simply because I love the franchise and this community.
Do you work for or have connections with DreamWorks Animation?
- I wish, but sadly, no, I don't work for DreamWorks. I also don't have any particular special connections with them, though I do have the email of one of DreamWorks' marketing team members that I only use for special cases concerning content on this wiki and/or its social media.
- But again, I stress: I'm an active editor on this wiki because I'm a fellow fan who loves the franchise. :)
Can I be an admin/rollback/chatmod on this wiki?
- We currently don't have any openings for any positions, but I'll be sure to post something up when we need people.

- Yes, I most likely have. I appreciate your concern over letting me know about it, but I probably already found out right before you sent your message. ;)

- Sorry, but no. I've got my hands full with this wiki as it is; I really don't think I could handle being active on another wiki.
Can you enable the Achievements extension on this wiki?

We had a community vote a while back to disable the feature on this wiki. Unfortunately the discussion itself was archived with the user blogs, but the poll results have been archived here, which you're more than welcome to have a look at.
Here's a short summary of the discussion:
We brought up the vote in the first place because a user felt like it became a competitive social barrier between editors. I agreed, and then presented my own point of view on it: it's very flawed, easily abused, and indeed makes editing look more like a competition for badges than a collaborative goal for good content on a wiki. During the community vote, everyone (but one) seemed to agree and voted in support of removal, and we did afterwards.

I love all of the FF in different ways, but my favorite member is still Crane. I really like his overall calm and cool demeanor, as well as his theme of grace and balance. If I were to ever become a kung fu master, I would most treasure his style of fighting and movement.
