Klaus: A gauntlet to move the earth, a whip of endless flame, wheels to ride the storm, and a helmet to master the wind. The ancient warriors created these weapons for one purpose: to trap the souls of their enemies.
Veruca: But once you bring all four together, the souls inside come out to play, play, play!
—Describing the weapons, "The Knight's Fall Part 2"

The Tianshang Weapons were a set of four (later five) magical and powerful elemental weapons forged by the Ancient Masters. They were centrally featured in Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight.

Description[]

The four weapons were crafted to harness elemental powers related to a different aspect of nature:

The weapons have the power to capture the souls of anyone who is killed by them. When all the weapons are wielded at the same time, the user can unleash the souls and control them. However, losing a weapon while the souls are released will cause the wielded to lose control over them. The weapons also have the power ro re-create Pangaea once more, but doing causes a strain on the elements, and could eventually cause the planet to be ripped apart. The weapons can also change form, as Alfred was able to turn one of the Storm Wheels into his sword using the forge in the city of Tianshang.

Four-warriors

The Ancient Masters using the weapons

“
A team of elemental warriors banded together to stop them. They used their own magic to create four weapons that could trap those evil guys inside forever.
—Zhen, "The Lotus"

Back when the world was still one and under the name Pangaea, some of its inhabitants wielded the power to control the world's elements. When a group of those inhabitants attempted to rule over Pangaea with an iron fist, they ruthlessly destroyed anyone that stood in their way. Eventually, a group of elemental warriors banded together to create the four Tianshang Weapons, which were imbued with nature-related powers: earth, fire, wind and lightning. In addition, they were also imbued with the power to trap their enemies' souls within. According to Veruca, if all four weapons were to be brought together, the souls trapped inside would be freed.

Ultimately, the four warriors managed to seal them away in the weapons. Unfortunately, however, the powers of the Tianshang weapons had destroyed the balance of the world, causing it to break apart. Knowing that their weapons were far too powerful and dangerous for one to wield, the four warriors hid them in places where no one could find them. One of the weapons, the Wugao Gauntlet, was left in the care of Wankun Village in China, while another of the weapons, the Whip of Endless Flame, was hidden in the Lost City. As for the Helm of Winds, it was hidden in Polynesia until it was found by the mage Kyle, while the Storm Wheels were hidden in Central America until they were found by Zuma.

The Tianshang Weapons are the main focus of the series in which Klaus and Veruca intended to find in order to harness their powers to awaken an evil army and take over the world. After the two weasel mages managed to escape with two of them, the Wugao Gauntlet and the Whip of Endless Flame (though this one was later revealed to be a fake), Po, Wandering Blade, and Rukhmini made it their mission to find the two remaining weapons before Klaus and Veruca could get their claws on them.

In Season 2 the Dragon Knights set off to find the Storm Wheels led from Master Mastodon.

Trivia[]

  • The Tianshang Weapons share similarities with the Four Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu from the Lego series Ninjago. Both are connected to different natural elements, with the exception of Ice being used instead of Wind.
