Veruca was once the archmage and advisor for the Queen of England. She was able harness the moonlight to magically manipulate plants, but her abilities weakened and eventually disappeared after she was imprisoned for the murder of Sir Alfred, kept in a windowless cell for fifteen years. Klaus then broke her out of jail and informed her that all the other mages were gone. They then began their mission to take over the world.[2]
In Season 3, she succeeded in unleashing the Ancient Undead Army in an attempt to destroy the world, however, she was killed by Alfred.
Personality[]
Veruca is sly, bloodthirsty, excitable, deceptive and maniacal. She is however sometimes bad at being sneaky, and is somewhat of a space case; she once used "weasel" as an insult, prompting Klaus to remind her that they themselves are weasels. Her insanity seems to be the direct result of her imprisonment and isolation from the moon. Veruca is also playfully flirtatious, as she refers to Po with such names as "hunky bear" and "pandy-wandy". She very much values her moon powers, and she is happy when she is able to use them again. She has no remorse or pity for those she deems her enemies and destroyed many villages simply because she felt like it and even left her brother for dead to escape. In season 3, it was revealed that she and Klaus were street urchins barely surviving on scraps and she had good intentions to protect herself and her brother. She then redeemed after being reunited with Klaus in her ghost form and she wanted to use her magic to save her brother and the world from the apocalypse that Alfred caused,

Relationships[]
Klaus[]
Klaus is Veruca's younger brother, and they share a very close relationship. Klaus cared enough about Veruca to spend fifteen years looking for her, and Veruca tried very hard and succeeded in saving Klaus when he was about to be boiled in a pot to be eaten.[2] They get into small arguments here and there, sometimes due to Klaus being annoyed at Veruca's excitability. Veruca will also at times insult and patronize Klaus, calling him "little brother" and "idiot". In Season 2, After Blade finally succeeded in capturing them to get revenge on Veruca who murdered her brother and she's escaped and she's betrayed by own brother and totally abandoned him even when he was threatened with death.
Po[]
Po, along with Wandering Blade, are both after Veruca and Klaus to bring them to justice. Despite this, Veruca expressed herself as having a crush on Po, often making him uncomfortable with her flirting. She also persuaded Po to join her, but she did not accept Po's proposal to join her in exchange for sparing Wandering Blade's life, although she was shocked when Po called her "my love".[4]
Wandering Blade[]
Veruca, alongside her brother Klaus, was responsible for the murder of Wandering Blade's brother, Sir Alfred. Blade has been pursuing Veruca and Klaus (mainly Veruca) ever since. Veruca initially did not remember who Blade was, until Blade held a sword up to her and asked if she knew who she was. She then remembered her as "that little girl" who was there when Veruca murdered Alfred.[5]
