Regulus Nemea (獅子王の戦斧, Regurusu Nemea), also known as the Battle Axe of the Lion King (獅子王の戦斧, Shishiō no Senpu), is a Sacred Gear wielded by Sairaorg Bael. It is listed as one of the original thirteen Longinus.
Appearance[]
Regulus Nemea takes two forms: a great battle axe and the Nemean Lion itself, where it is a giant lion with a jewel on its forehead. It has a large body that is about four to five meters tall.
In its axe form, it is predominately gold and has a single edged axe blade which is silver. The middle of the axe has a design of the Regulus Nemea in it's lion form engraved in it. On the other side of the axe are three curved silver protrusions situated at the bottom, middle and top of that side of the axe. On the top is a golden diamond with a silver diamond in the middle and below the bottom of the center of the axe, are two protrusions in the shape of a diamond but with the edges being prolonged.

In the past, the God of the Bible captured the Strongest among the Nemean Lions, Regulus, who fought against the original Heracles, and later sealed it inside the Sacred Gear which eventually became one of the original thirteen Longinus.[1]

There is currently no possessor for the Regulus Nemea, as its previous host died and the Sacred Gear underwent a drastic change, causing the Nemean Lion within the Regulus Nemea to materialize itself and kill the group that killed its possessor.[1] Nevertheless, Sairaorg Bael can be considered to be its owner, as he has tamed the lion when he encountered the Longinus.[1]
Abilities[]
Regulus Nemea is a golden battle axe, which houses one of the strongest Nemean Lions, allowing the owner to break the ground in a single strike to splitting the Earth in half if mastered. Its secondary ability protects the possessor from projectile-type attacks.
According to Azazel, Regulus Nemea can transform into a huge lion that has a purple jewel in the middle of its forehead named Regulus, functioning as an Independent Avatar similar to Canis Lykaon, however instead of passing onto another host after their death, Regulus instead functioned even after his former host's death due to an irregular change, acting similar to the Incinerate Anthem.[1]
Sairaorg, however, doesn't use weapons in normal battles, and instead uses Regulus Nemea whenever he has a need to utilize its Balance Breaker.

Regulus Rey Leather Rex (獅子王の剛皮, Regurusu Rei Rezā Rekkusu): Also known as the Iron Skin of the Lion King (獅子王の剛皮, Shishiō no Gōkawa), Sairaorg's Sub-Species Balance Breaker, which creates a golden lion-themed full-bodied armor. In this state, it focuses the immense earth-breaking powers of Regulus Nemea onto his fists, resulting in an increase in offensive power, while protecting the user from projectile-based attacks.
It was first used by Sairaorg during his Rating Game against the Gremory Group, outclassing Issei's Illegal Move Triaina Rook and matched his Cardinal Crimson Promotion, [2]
Regulus Rey Leather Rex Imperial Purpure[]
Regulus Rey Leather Rex Imperial Purpure (獅子王の紫金剛皮・覇獣式, Regurusu Rei Rezā Rekkusu Inperiaru Pāpyua), also known as the Invincible Purple Skin of the Lion King - Beast of Supremacy Style (獅子王の紫金剛皮・覇獣式, Shishiō no Shikon Gōkawa Hajū-shiki), is the Breakdown the Beast of Regulus Nemea. Similar to Juggernaut Drive, it releases the power of the Nemean Lion, at the cost of using its owner's life-force as the power source.[3] In this form, Sairaorg's armor changes into a more aggressive form that has gold and purple double-tone, wrapped in an intense purple Touki with gold tinge added on it. He wields such explosive power and speed that it outclassed Bedeze Abaddon, the 3rd Ranked Rating Game Player empowered using the King Piece,[3] breaking his Hole using pure power, and exceeding Kiba's God-Speed.
His punches alone was such that Ddraig said that it was as strong, or exceeds the Cardinal Crimson Promotion's Crimson Blaster; later stating that Issei couldn't avoid using Diabolos Dragon to fight against Sairaorg.
However, because it uses his life-force as the source, Sairaorg cannot maintain it for long, and it places such an extreme burden on him that it causes him to vomit blood from activating it.

- In Greek mythology, the Nemean lion was a monster that terrorized the city of Nemea until it was slain by Heracles.
- Regulus is the name of the brightest star in the Leo constellation.
- Regulus is Latin for 'prince' or 'little king'. Indirectly being Sairaorg's Sacred Gear references Sairaorg being a prince and that he comes from the Great King Bael clan.
- In Greek mythology, Regulus was one of the monsters that was raised by Typhon and Echidna, along with Orthrus, Sphinx, Cerberus, Ladon, Hydra, Eagle, and Chimera.[4]
- Saint Regulus or Saint Rule (Old Irish: Riagal) was a legendary 4th century monk or bishop of Patras, Greece who in AD 345 is said to have fled to Scotland with the bones of Saint Andrew, and deposited them at St Andrews.
- Purpure means "purple" and is the dye know as tyrian purple, also known as "imperial purple".
- The Regulus Nemea is currently the only weapon type Longinus that is not used in its weapon form by its wielder.
- Regulus Rey Leather Rex seems to be based off of GaoGaiGar and its pilot Gai Shishio in his Cyborg Gai form.
