Ragnarök Aesir Berserk, also known as the Dragon Dress of the Apocalypse Emperor (終末大帝の龍装, Shūmatsu Taitei no Ryūsō), is the artificial Sacred Gear created by the Norse mythology for Vidar's use, which is powered by the legendary Dragon King; Midgardsormr.[1]
Summary[]
In Volume 25, Vidar revealed that he was inspired by Asia and her pact with Fafnir as he also desired to make a pact with a famous dragon, summoning Midgardsormr's consciousness with magic and reminding him of their pact, with Midgardsormr turning into a jewel which Vidar affixed to his mythical boots. Vidar explained that the Norse mythology tried to copy the Sacred Gear system with the help of the Grigori, using the power of the original Yggdrasil.[1]
Abilities[]
Ragnarök Aesir Berserk is a semi-God Armament, which Vidar described as the Asgardian version of an Artificial Sacred Gear, which is created by Midgardsormr transforming into a jewel which is affixed into Vidar's upgraded boots, as it envelops Vidar in a Scale Mail-like Dragon armor, which enhances his strength, speed, durability as well as strengthens his other abilities. Like Boosted Gear Scale Mail, it contains boosters which emit fire that further enhances Vidar's speed to the point where he becomes faster than Issei. In the armor, Vidar becomes powerful enough to contend with Issei Hyoudou, who was wearing his Pseudo-Diabolos Dragon armor and overwhelm him to the point of damaging his armor.[1]
- Fimbulvetr Shot (フィンブルヴェト・ショット, Finburuveto Shotto): Vidar's signature technique in this form, where he focuses divine aura on his feet and enhanced using Midgardsormr's power before shooting it at his opponent using a kick. Fimbulvetr Shot was powerful enough to send Issei in his Pseudo-Diabolos Dragon God Armor a great distance into the Artificial Yggdrasil, both destroying parts of it and Issei's armor at his abdomen, as well as being powerful enough to hold off his Infinity Blaster.[1]
Trivia[]
- Vidar's usage of Ragnarök Aesir Berserk is similar to Azazel's usage of the Down Fall Dragon Spear.[1]
- The Æsir are a tribe or grouping of gods that formed the original Norse pantheon. After the Aesir-Vanir War against their fellow deities known as the Vanir, the two groups reconciled and formed a united pantheon. Vidar himself is an Aesir god.
