WARNING! |
Vector, also known by his real name Resa Roanoke, is a Villain and a former member of the Nameless, a villainous organization led by the Smiling Man as the group's doctor and mode of transportation but left due to moral differences with Engen following the Invasion of Castle Gray.
Before becoming a Villain, he was once a member of the Hero Clan's science and research division that was involved with the Project Newborn, a gruesome research project designed to create Gift Users to save his sister, Roanoke during the days of Great War.
However, despite experimenting on countless victims he failed to save her. Guilt-ridden for his role in the horrific program, he escaped the clan and met Engen with John Nash, a victim of the project, years after the war's end. He would join the Nameless for the chance to witness and play a role in the Smiling Man's renewed war against the clan as an active 'spectator'.
Vector was introduced in the District 17 Assault Arc, where he and the Nameless helped save Hero Killer after she was nearly killed by the 17th Division's heroes and to announce their return to the public and the Hero Clan.
Appearance[]
Resa's facial characteristics were initially unknown, since he perpetually wore a radiation gasmask, but is quite handsome with slander-looking eyes and eyelashes with sky blue eyes that glow whenever using his EST with short middle-grey hair. According to Kkulbeol and Beolkkul, he was known to be the local pretty boy in his neighborhood in his childhood [1]
He used to wear a lab coat at all the time with a casual green shirt underneath it, printed with a skull and a green hoodie, but has now donned a more formal choice of clothing.
Personality[]
Resa is probably the only one in the Nameless who isn't abnormal, weird, entirely ruthless, or outright crazy.

Vector's panic.
He can be mostly calm and composed but is easily excitable (both negatively and positively) when the situation calls for it or escalates. Aside from that, Vector cares about his comrades in the Nameless despite their many, many eccentrics, unconventional mindsets, and ruthless methods but he isn't afraid to voice his opinions as he told Engen to never put him in the position of choosing between destroying civilians and stepping in to stop it. This shows that Vector still possesses some remnants of heroic thoughts from his days as a member of the Hero Clan.

Vector's guilt.
However, Vector carries an immense amount of guilt for his role in the Project Newborn, and this guilt eventually manifests as an inner voice that whispers to his consciousness.[2]

Etymology[]
- Resa: is a name of uncertain origin, but it could be derived from the Hebrew name Rosa (meaning "rose"), or it could be a short form of names like Theresa (meaning "harvest"). It could also be a variation of Reza, a Persian name meaning "contentment" or "satisfaction."
- Roanoke: is a surname of Native American origin, specifically from the Powhatan language. It is believed to mean "shell money" or "wampum" (a form of currency made from shells used by Native American tribes in the Chesapeake Bay area). The name is famously associated with the Roanoke Colony, an English colony in the Americas that mysteriously disappeared in the late 16th century. This historical connection adds an air of mystery and lost history to the name.
- Combining both, Resa Roanoke could evoke an image of someone who carries a sense of beauty or peace (from Resa) alongside a mysterious, possibly tragic or historical past (from Roanoke). The name suggests a character with depth, someone who may be tied to both internal peace or fulfillment and external circumstances that involve complex, possibly lost histories.
- Vector means "Carry, Carrier".
Trivia[]
- Vector and John had already knew each other before joining the Nameless.
- Vector was the second oldest of the Nameless.
- Vector usually played the role of the straight man in the Nameless 'antics.
- Vector's blood is Baek-Ji's favorite snack.
- While he was the weakest in the Nameless when it came to combat, Vector has the largest amount of EST after Engen, Rachel, and Ihwa.
