"From Dust Till Dawn" is the first segment of the sixth episode of the second season of Hamster & Gretel, and the seventieth episode overall. It is paired with "Last Fred Standing" and premiered on Disney Channel on September 28, 2024.[1] This episode has been released early on September 18, 2024 on Disney+.
When a teapot from Abuelita's family vajilla breaks, Kevin and Gretel try to get it fixed so she'd be able to calm down. However, the artifact is nabbed away by the Dust Might, a villainess obsessed with antiques and eludes the siblings with nanodust clouds.
Plot[]
While teaching Kevin how to clean the family vajilla now that he has come of age, Abuelita leaves the room to answer a phone call, allowing Gretel to touch one of the heirlooms, a teapot. However, Abuelita startles Gretel, causing her to drop the teapot and break it. Concerned that her family is now doomed thanks to a similar incident when she was young, Abuelita "banishes" Kevin and Gretel from the house, leaving them scrambling to find a way to repair the teapot. They are directed to an antique show by the mail carrier Rosie, where they are able to have it repaired. However, Dust Might, a villainess obsessed with antiques, steals the teapot from them and attacks them with giant dust mites.
Unable to defeat Dust Might, Kevin, Hamster, and Gretel turn to Abuelita, who is still panicking over bringing doom to her family. However, she discovers a note left by her grandmother forgiving her for damaging one of the heirlooms and reminding her that family must stick together to remain without doom. With this newfound confidence, she uses her cleaning skills to help Hamster and Gretel defeat Dust Might, who is later revealed to be Rosie the mail carrier.

News report[]
Veronica Hill: We interrupt Cosas Tristes y Terribles with real cosas terribles. I'm here downtown, where a dust villain is really aggravating my spring allergies, and also kicking Hamster and Gretel's butts. Hey, superhero Gretel, it's looking pretty bad out there. Why don't you just give up? Gretel: I can't give up. I let someone down who I love very much, and I have to make it right. Veronica Hill: Is there nobody out there who can dust this dust villain? |

Memorable quotes[]
Carmen: And she wasn't kidding: the doom started right away. The sugar bowl was ruined, and the horses dragged my grandfather into a rock-filled desert! Kevin: He was dragged to his death?! Carmen: No, the many cactuses protected him from the rocks. Carman's grandfather: Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. Carmen: But when the horses reached the ravine, he was thrown off a cliff! Kevin: (gasp) To his death?! Carmen: No, not to his death. To a river filled with giant pointed rocks! Kevin: And that's how he died? Carmen: No, he was a very strong swimmer. Unfortunately, he didn't do so well with the giant waterfall! Kevin: Surely that was the end-- Carmen: No! For his fall was broken by a pond of piranhas! Kevin: So he was eaten by piranhas? Carmen: No, that is a made-up belief from movies. He simply waded out and set for home across the treacherous jungle without supplies! Kevin: Where he finally succumbed to thirst? Carmen: No, he was actually quite close to home. 15-minute walk, maybe. He came back safe and sound. Gretel: Abuelita, I don't understand, he was fine. Where was the doom? Carmen: Two days later, we lost the farm because of a clerical accounting error! Kevin: That's very sad, but I'm not seeing the connection. |
