Theme Song Takeover is a series of shorts of about 1-2 minutes, produced by Disney's social media, and occasionally featured on the Disney Channel. As the name indicates, the shorts feature intro theme song of Disney Channel cartoon series being taken over by a different character from said series, one who typically is not the main character. The series begun in early 2019 (making it one of the earliest Disney Channel shorts series encompassing multiple franchises), starting with Dr. Doofenshmirtz of Phineas and Ferb taking over the Milo Murphy's Law theme song, as Doofenshmirtz has become a prominent character in Milo Murphy's Law at this point.
Hamster & Gretel also got a single Theme Song Takeover short on September 17, 2022, followed by three Chibi Tiny Tales shorts for the upcoming weeks after, in which Kevin got to take over the theme song. It is currently the only Hamster & Gretel Theme Song Takeover so far; however, a unique Theme Song Takeover on April 1, 2024 has Kiff Chatterley of the Kiff series take over a multitude of Disney Channel theme songs, one of which being Hamster & Gretel.
