The Second Equatorial Skirmish is a conflict of the First Alliance-PLANT War, featured in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
Prelude[]
Following an unsuccessful first attack on the Archangel, Commander Marco Morassim sought to re-engage the vessel and personally take on the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. Onboard the Archangel, Mu La Flaga concluded that based on the ship's current distance from known ZAFT bases, the attacking mobile suits must be operating from a Vosgulov-class submarine. Knowing that the potential threat of the submarine could eventually weaken the Archangel to the point of destruction, Mu recommended to Murrue Ramius that during the enemy's next attack, he focus on locating and destroying the Vosgulov.[1]
The Battle[]
Aftermath[]
Cagalli's Skygrasper crashed near the same island that the Aegis Gundam landed, leading to Cagalli encountering Athrun. After an initial conflicting first meeting, they eventually decided to ally with each other until help arrived.[2]
Immediately following the battle, Murrue had Kira search for Cagalli in the Strike Gundam. The following day, Kira located the Skygraper and retrieved Cagalli. At the same time, Nicol Amalfi located Athrun and returned him to Carpentaria.[2]
