Berserk is a status in Final Fantasy IX. While under its effect, targets cannot input commands and only use the default Attack command, gaining a +50% damage boost. The player can make use of the status both against enemies and to enhance their own party's attack power.

Use[]
Berserk can be used to make the player's own party stronger: if the party has a member whose only purpose is to always use Attack, then bestowing them Berserk improves the damage they dish out. For enemies, Berserk should be used on foes that normally focus on spellcasting or support and have a weak physical attack.
There are limited ways the player can protect against Berserk, as there are no immunity abilities that inoculate against it. Against Ozma, the player can equip Auto-Reflect to bounce the spell (though it will have no effect on Ozma, as bosses are typically immune to it).
