A stone slab buried in the forest.
Dissidia Final Fantasy description
Chocographs (チョコグラフ, Chokogurafu?) are rare stones in Final Fantasy IX that serve as "treasure maps". They guide the player to treasure chests that can only be found when riding on Choco.
Chocographs are found by digging in the minigame Chocobo Hot and Cold played in Chocobo's Forest, Chocobo's Lagoon and Chocobo's Air Garden. There are 24 in total, and they appear randomly at dig sites. Treasure boxes found via the Chocographs contain many rare items, and sometimes transport Choco to Chocobo's Dream World giving him new abilities and color. If the treasure contains a Tetra Master card and the player's card quota is full, the card appears to have been discarded. However, if the player collects all Chocograph treasures, they can reclaim the discarded cards from the Fat Chocobo in Chocobo's Paradise.

Chocograph Pieces[]
Chocograph Pieces hint at the locations of the Chocobo's Air Garden on the world map. They become progressively available as the player meets certain requirements and, unlike Chocographs, are not assigned to a specific place, meaning that any Chocograph Piece can be dug up in either the Forest or the Lagoon. The writings on them, which are attributed to Cid Fabool I, appear in a predetermined order: thus, the first Chocograph Piece uncovered by the player will always display the first hint shown in the table below, the second Piece will display the second hint, and so on.

Etymology[]
"Choco" is short for "chocobo". (チョコボール, Chokobōru?). The mascot for this product is Kyoro-chan (キョロちゃん?), a bird who says "kweh".
The name "chocobo" derives from a Japanese brand of chocolate malt ball by Morinaga, ChocoBall食う / くう / kuu is a rough way to say "eat", whose volitional casual form is 食え / くえ / kue ("let's scoff 'em down!"), leading to Kweh!
The "graph" suffix, from Greek meaning "to write; to draw; to show; to scratch; to scrape", is used in words such as "photograph" or "cartograph".
