Free Radical is a challenge and perk in Fallout: New Vegas.
Challenge requirements[]
This perk is gained upon completing the "Free Radical" challenge (consume 20 doses of RadAway).
Effects[]
Gaining this perk grants a bonus of removing an additional 10 rads when consuming RadAway.
Notes[]
In Hardcore mode, while RadAway will still reduce radiation over time (as opposed to all at once outside of Hardcore), the amount of radiation removed will still be 10 points higher.
Behind the scenes[]
The name of this perk is a reference to atoms, molecules, or ions with unpaired electrons on an open shell configuration.
