The awkward refugee is a resident of the Whitespring Refuge in Appalachia.
Background[]
The awkward refugee is a woman living at the Refuge who has crushes on other residents, such as Ellison or Rucker, yet struggles with social graces and acts like something of a stalker. She says that she has a collection of photos of her crushes, as well as a "shrine" including drawings and items previously used by the crush. She seems to not understand why such behavior may be seen as unacceptable.

Quests[]
The awkward refugee will ask the player character to take a photo of a random person at the Refuge as part of a miscellaneous quest in a Refuge random encounter. The player character can accept the candid photography job and get paid once the photo is turned in to her. Alternatively, if one wishes to not indulge the refugee with her stalking, they can talk her out of it using one of three SPECIAL checks.
- Charisma 8+ - convince her to respect the crush's boundaries if she truly admires them
- Intelligence 8+ - reason with her by saying that word will get around fast about her behavior
- Strength 8+ - intimidate her to stay away or else she will regret it
The player character will also receive payment following a successful check dissuading the refugee. Finally, one can simply choose to not engage with her at all.
