DS1 Dexterity stat icon Dexterity is a stat in Dark Souls.

General Information[]

Dexterity is used to meet requirements and increase damage to weapons that scale well with Dexterity. Dexterity softcaps at 20/40/45. You will want to stop at 20 and 40 overall for physical attack and 45 for the spell cast speed of some spells. This spell cast speed increase is generally unimportant for a PvE caster build, but worth noting if you happen to get into PvP.

Unlike Strength there is no boost to Dexterity when two handing, though players will still gain increased damage in practice when two handing due to the Motion Value modifier.

Notes[]

  • Unlike Strength there is no boost to Dexterity when two handing, though players will still gain increased damage in practice when two handing due to the Motion Value modifier.
  • The highest Dexterity scaling melee weapons in the game is Painting Guardian Sword when on the Standard and Crystal upgrade paths at 109% Dexterity scaling and Dark Silver Tracer with 145% Dexterity scaling. Though don't be fooled by scaling, as Painting Guardian Sword has the better damage potential.
  • The highest Dexterity scaling weapon overall is Black Bow of Pharis on the Standard and Crystal upgrade paths with 165% Dexterity scaling.
