The Gravelord Sword is a curved greatsword in Dark Souls.
In-Game Description
- Sword wielded only by servants of Gravelord Nito, the first of the dead. Crafted from the bones of the fallen.
- The miasma of death exudes from the sword, a veritable toxin to any living being.
Availability[]
Awarded as part of the Gravelord Servant covenant, which is accessed through The Catacombs by laying in an open coffin that is in close vicinity to a Titanite Demon.
Characteristics[]
The Gravelord Sword inflicts Toxic buildup, at a rate of 30 points of Toxic per hit, and once the bar is filled, lasts for 10 minutes dealing 5 damage per second. This weapon is one of only two in the game that has the ability to inflict toxic, the other being the Dark Silver Tracer.
When compared to the other Curved Greatswords, the Gravelord Sword has the poorest scaling and physical damage coupled with being hard to upgrade. This weapon is decent in the early game but will be outclassed quickly by Murakumo. If a player would like to use Gravelord Sword for an entire run, would not be wise to invest into Physical Damage scaling stats due to low scaling percentages.
Scaling Percentages[]
- Strength - 13%
- Dexterity - 13%
- Intelligence - 0%
- Faith - 0%
Notes[]
- It can be obtained through the use of the "Catacombs Skip", allowing the player to have a massively strong weapon at the very start of the game if they can run through the Catacombs to grab the Eyes of Death and then enter the coffin.
- Although the Gravelord Sword appears to have a Poison auxiliary effect modifier within the game, it has only Toxic properties.
- The two-handed strong attack will create a hit spark regardless of if it hit a surface.
