The Frog Vase is a jar artifact that holds a hidden message from Amphibia.

Appearance[]

The vase is round and has images of humans in a boat, looking up at a hooded female frog holding the music box carved on it. It also has a broken handle.

Background[]

While they are at the Museum of Natural History, Anne and the Plantars come across a piece of pottery that features a frog and more importantly, the Calamity Box.

Hop Pop suggests just asking Dr. Jan to see the pottery to look at it closer, but Anne is hesitant to trust anybody else with their secret, so she decides to rob the museum instead, actually taking Hop Pop's sarcastic suggestion.

That night, Hop Pop, dressed as a "fabulous cat", distracts some security guards and gets them into a coffee shop to buy time, while Polly gets through a series of security alarms and laser traps fairly easily. Things get more challenging when the Cloak-Bot comes crashing through the roof to take on the group, setting off all the alarms. The gang works together against the robot, inevitably collapsing a giant skeleton on top of it and damaging it when Dr. Jan and the guards come in. Dr. Jan recognizes the Plantars for what they are immediately, bipedal frogs likely from another dimension, and ushers the guards away, calling the whole situation a misunderstanding.

She then asks Anne why she didn't just ask, if she wanted help. The group explains everything, filling Dr. Jan in on the whole story while they examine the pottery. Anne even suggests taking it under a black light to look for code on it, when Dr. Jan suggests a deal: that if she goes home and gets some sleep, she'll help her figure out how to get everyone back to Amphibia.

Later on in her office alone, Dr. Jan is studying the pottery when she turns off the lights and takes a UV flashlight to the pottery, discovering a code in Amphibian alphabet just like Anne suggested.

Dr. Jan arrives at the Thai Temple to share her findings, and thanks to Marcy's journal that Anne has in her possession, they are able to translate the message Dr. Jan found: "Seek the Mother of Olms, she will guide you to your destiny".

Trivia[]

  • On the jar, Andrias' former friend Leif, who stole the Calamity Box from him, can be seen near a bunch of Vikings, possibly in the Scandinavian area of Earth.
