Venom is taken to Bolivar Trask, who offers to "help" Venom control the suit but actually uses his tech to control him. Trask sends Venom after Electro, and they end up fighting, with Spider-Man later coming in to take both of them down. Venom ended up attacking Sable again and defeated her but was interrupted by Spider-Man and after the battle between the two left the both weakened, Sable took advantage and took them to Trask, where Venom would continue to be abused by him.
Venom would later end up fighting with Peter, who have been bonded with the Carnage symbiote, forged by his own bloodstream; Venom emerged victorious and absorbed the Carnage symbiote, giving him full control over the suit. Venom would then attack Trask, attempting to kill him as revenge for everything he had put him through. However, Spider-Man stopped him from doing so, and instead, Trask was sent to prison for only a few years. Venom was unhappy with this punishment and fixed it himself by murdering Trask and then escaping.
Now at peace with who he had become, no longer needing to devour to survive, and free from Trask's control, Eddie continues on with his on-the-run life as the monstrosity known as Venom. Peter comments to Mary Jane on whether he should be scared of or for him.
Personality[]
Much like in the comics, Eddie's characteristics are the same in the game; From a sleazy and vindictive person to a monster - bonded to a symbiote - always on the run. Despite listening Peter's experience of the symbiotic biosuit was and why it needed to be destroyed due to its ravenous bloodlust, Eddie deliberately exposed himself to a second sample out of pure spite which led him in becoming Venom and blames Peter for his current predicament.
While he fed off on criminals as Venom, some where innocent bystanders. Eddie struggled to piece together how his life had fallen apart, spending much of his time dominated by the symbiotic biosuit's insatiable hunger which left him with only fragmentary memories while it was in control.
After being captured by Silver Sable, whom Trask hired her, Eddie spent most of his days as the said client's experiment against both his will and warning that the biosuit cannot be controlled. Eddie also cuts his ties with Peter after he 'betrayed' his trust, viewing him as nothing but a mere quarry that will help control the suit by devouring the web-slinger whole. Even willing to sell out Peter's secret identity and loved ones. Not only Eddie admitted that while Spider-Man was there, but even felt that he was slowly in control of the Venom symbiote. After assimilating the remnants of the symbiote within Spider-Man's bloodstream, Venom was now in full control of the symbiote and later on, brandishing his own justice on Bolivar Trask.
Trivia[]
- Before Eddie gained full control of the symbiote by the end of the game, Venom lacked the signature spider symbol on his chest. This trait would be passed on to Venom from Sony's Marvel Universe.
- In the comics, Eddie devours any passerby near him via recounting the previous events involving Spider-Man to them until Beetle captures Eddie and most likely severs him from the symbiote. In this version, it serves as its own continuity as the symbiote remained with him, no longer wanting to bond with Spider-Man.
