“ | The guard rail... It's a new type of creature and most likely an animal! Something like a snake... or a guard dog...! | „ |
~ Lucy Steel on Radio Gaga. |
Radio Gaga is a minor antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: JoJolion, serving as the main antagonist of "The Radio Gaga Incident" arc.
It is a Rock Organism that consumes unsuspecting people and lures it victims in by mimicking the voices of it prior victims.
Appearance[]
Radio Gaga looks to the naked eye like an ordinary guard rail, but in reality, it is a Rock Organism that is possibly a snake that pretends to be metal, with its eyes are where the Guard Rail screws should be and its stomach covering much of his body.
Personality[]
Being technically a snake, Radio Gaga only cares about eating its victims perhaps as a way to survive, although that has proven to be sadistic by using the body of Lucy Steel's driver to blackmail her and Joseph into helping him so that he can eat. We can attribute loyalty from Radio Gaga to Tooru, since it could be protecting the area where the Locacaca are planted so that no one investigates said fruit and comes to meet the Locacaca smuggling organization. It shows fear of being defeated by Joseph, since it escapes when he knocks it down into the meadow with his Stand.
Biography[]
Past[]
The origins of Radio Gaga is unknown, but it can be said that it is part of the strange fauna of Morioh. Being part of the Rock Organisms that emerged as an organism superior to the usual ones, Radio Gaga could be considered a new species of snake that was camouflaged as a guard rail in order to eat their prey in a more desultory way.
For years, some people saw how Radio Gaga made people who passed by it disappear and the legend of "The Radio Gaga Incident" spread, perhaps because its voice was heard like radio static and that always mumbled "Gaga".
The Radio Gaga Incident Arc[]
In 1941, Lucy Steel, along with Joseph Joestar and their driver, investigated an orchard nearby. Noticing them, Radio Gaga attempted to devour them, starting with the driver, which it succeeded in doing. With the driver killed, Lucy was it's intended next target, but as it caught her, Joseph intervened with one of his sandals and saved her.
As the pair tried to escape, Radio Gaga then manipulates the body of the driver to deceive them through insulting them for leaving the driver to die, and while it does snare Joseph around his neck and try to eat him, he manages to attack the creature with his Stand, breaking Radio Gaga's beam and forcing both parties to flee, with Lucy catching a glimpse of Tooru planting one of the Locacaca in the distance.
The place where Radio Gaga was gives us to understand that it was protecting the area where the Locacaca that Tooru was harvesting was planted, implying that Radio Gaga is a guardian pet of Tooru, and that at some point, Tooru met Radio Gaga to turn it into his guardian. The current fate of Radio Gaga is unknown, but it's possible it died of hunger or continues to eat humans and animals in another place or city.
Powers and Abilities[]
Radio Gaga's chief ability is mimicry to coax others to it, be it through its body seeming like an ordinary guard rail, emitting strange noses akin to white noise, or using the bodies and voices of those it killed, the latter of which also being able to use the zombie-like bodies of the dead to grab its opponents to get them within range.
Through these means, Radio Gaga's main plan is to have others try and investigate its strange nature in order to trap its foes in between its steel-like body and the plates of the rail, crushing them. However, a tell of its manipulation is that its victims act strangely before they die, uttering "ga ga" and stripping nude.
Trivia[]
- The namesake for the creature is the 1984 song Radio Ga Ga by Queen, which is well-known for its use in the trailer for Michael De Santa, one of the three protagonists of Grand Theft Auto V.
