The Mauler Twins are major antagonists in the Image Comics series Invincible, and its animated adaption of the same name. They're a duo of mad scientists who aren't actually twins, but rather clones of each other. They both claim to be the original one while stating that the other is a clone.
They are voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, who also voices Jack from Jupiter in The Boys Presents: Diabolical, the Joker in The Batman, the Black Samurai in Scooby-Doo! and the Samurai Sword, Ian the Gator in The Princess and the Frog, and Goro in Mortal Kombat.
Personality[]
Mauler Twins[]
The Mauler Twins often argue with each other to prove that one of them is the original. They attempt to prove that they are the original by trying to be more superior in their abilities than the other Mauler. In the end, the Mauler Twins uses their ability to prove on which is superior as a way to achieve their goals by working hard to prove they are the best and are the original. Their arguments on trying to the original Mauler had even once escalated to the point that when the scarred Mauler had complete certainty of being the original Mauler, the cloned Mauler was shocked upon being filled with complete certainty that he himself is the clone. The scarred Mauler would abuse his title with his arrogance to the point the cloned Mauler killed the scarred Mauler.
Due to the scarred Mauler's high egotism, the cloned Mauler decided to kill the scarred Mauler as they would not be able to work as a team effectively if they are both aware that the scarred Mauler is the original Mauler. The Mauler Twins can angry when their enemies hurt them and in return they will attack their enemies in retaliation. Their arrogance towards their enemies are what cause them to be defeated as most of the time, they underestimate their enemies. When fighting Oliver Grayson, the Mauler Twins underestimate him until Oliver Grayson manages to kill one of the Mauler Twins in a brutal fashion. The remaining Mauler attempts to beg for mercy, but is killed off by Oliver.
Mr. Mauler[]
Unlike the previous Mauler Twins, Mr. Mauler is shown to be much more prepared when dealing with the heroes. An example of how Mr. Mauler created a hologram to confront both Best Tiger and Kaboomerang. Mr. Mauler also uses deformed clones of himself to fight the heroes and is more focused on trying to be a family man rather than taking over the world. Mr. Mauler cares for his subjects as he signed a legal contract to have his subjects be legally impregnated and promises to care for his offspring. Sometime later, Mr. Mauler would clone himself and work with his clone to help the world by working with the superheroes under orders of Rudolph Conners.
In the end, the Mauler Twins wish to help the world as a way to atone for their crimes as they have been given the resources that they need by.
Alternate Mauler Twin[]
Upon meeting Invincible, the Mauler attacks him as the Mauler wants revenge for what Invincible had done to him. The Mauler refuses to talk to Invincible as his clone was killed off by Invincible and that the Mauler is struggling to settle down due to the Viltrumite Empire. The Mauler eventually calms down to work with Invincible in creating a body for Rudolph Conners. Initially the Mauler wanted to kill Invincible, but lost that desire once the Mauler found out that he is a different Invincible. The Mauler then explains his motives to Invincible, that he wanted to help the world by ruling it. The Mauler had believed the governments to be incompetent, which gave the Mauler a desire to restore law and order by ruling the world. The Mauler continues to work with Invincible and Rudolph Conners and eventually succeeds in finishing their plans to defeat the Viltrumite Empire. When the Viltrumites arrive, the Mauler and Rudolph Conners tell Invincible to go as they can take care of themselves in defeating the Viltrumite Empire.

Angstrom Levy[]
The Mauler Twins meet Angstrom Levy during their time in prison. They are initially shocked at Angstrom Levy's arrival, but eventually come with him to escape prison. The Mauler Twins go to Angstrom Levy's portal and are shocked as to why the cities are in ruined. Angstrom Levy explains that they are in another dimensions and Angstrom Levy needs the help of the Mauler Twins. The Mauler Twins initially were reluctant to help Angstrom Levy, but they do so once Angstrom Levy threatens to leave the Mauler Twins trapped in the random dimension. All of them go back to their dimension and leave in Angstrom Levy's van.
In Angstrom Levy's lab, the Mauler Twins help Angstrom Levy create a machine, so that Angstrom Levy may gain the knowledge of all his other counterparts. Angstrom Levy thanks the Mauler Twins for their hard work and the Mauler Twins thank Angstrom Levy for the knowledge they gained while working together. When Invincible arrives at the scene, the Mauler Twins attempt to defend Angstrom Levy, but are thrown away by Invincible. Suddenly a massive explosion occurs in Angstrom Levy's lab and one of the Mauler Twins survive by using the other Mauler Twin as a body shield. Unfortunately the surviving Mauler gained massive scars on his body.
The scarred Mauler Twin helps Angstrom levy get out of the ruble, but is saddened by what Angstrom Levy had become. Angstrom Levy leaves the dimension to get some medical help while the scarred Mauler is frustrated that Angstrom Levy had left him.
Scarred Mauler[]
After the scarred Mauler clones himself, the cloned Mauler declares himself as the original. The scarred Mauler asks the clone on who the original is and the cloned Mauler becomes horrified that the scarred Mauler is the original. The cloned Mauler notes that this is the first time where they are aware on who the original mauler is. At the same time the scarred Mauler is happy that he is superior to his clone by being the original mauler. The cloned Mauler eventually kills the scarred Mauler because the egotism of the scarred Mauler would be detrimental towards their goals.
The cloned Mauler clones himself again and they both settle of being the original Mauler by working hard and making sure that they are the original clone.
Oliver Grayson[]
The Mauler Twins meet Oliver Grayson during their time in the nuclear missile silo. With Invincible at the ground, Oliver Grayson attacks the Mauler Twins, but Invincible wants Oliver Grayson to get away from the battle. One of the Mauler Twins attack Invincible, but the Mauler that attacked Invincible is hit in the back by Oliver Grayson. Another Mauler prepares to shoot Oliver Grayson, but his gun is destroyed by Invincible. The Mauler then launches the nuclear missile into space while Invincible goes to destroy the missile. Oliver then punches one of the Mauler Twins and breaks the Mauler's jaw.
The Mauler with the broken jaw tosses Oliver Grayson aside and the other Mauler taunts Oliver Grayson for angering the Mauler with the broken jaw. Oliver Grayson comes out of the wall and kills the Mauler with the broken jaw in a brutal manner. The other Mauler begs for mercy towards Oliver Grayson, but he gets his head punched open by Oliver Grayson.
Invincible[]
One of the Mauler Twins meets Mark Grayson in his pajamas in the middle of the night. Mark Grayson fights the Mauler, but is thrown into the wall. The Teen Team arrives to fight the Mauler and the Mauler is quickly defeated. The Mauler is then able to retreat to his base and meet with his clone in the next day. Suddenly, Robot, Invincible and Atom Eve arrive to defeat the Mauler Twins. Invincible meets the Mauler Twins again and easily defeats them at Angstrom Levy's lab. In the nuclear missile silo, Invincible fights the Mauler Twins, but is distracted by the missile the Mauler Twins had launched into space. Invincible deals with destroying the missile while Oliver Grayson kills both the Mauler Twins.
The Immortal[]
The twins are responsible for the revival of Immortal who was previously killed by Omni-Man. Thanks to their great intellect, they are capable of reviving him even after getting decapitated. While they attempted to use their contraption to brainwish him, the contraption fails thanks to Immortal's will and immense hatred for Omni-Man's betrayal. As the Immortal breaks out of their laboratory to seek revenge to question them about his whereabouts, the twins left no answer and attempts to back off, which he simply left them and the twins realize that Robot gave them bad schematics.
Mr. Mauler[]
Invincible[]
Mr. Mauler meets Invincible when Mr. Mauler is lifting a cargo crate. Invincible questions how the Mauler is still alive when both the Mauler Twins had died in the nuclear missile silo. Mr. Mauler tells Invincible that he cloned himself before the Mauler Twins had gone to the nuclear missile silo as a way to not die. Invincible punches Mr. Mauler in the face and Mr. Mauler prepares to fight Invincible. Unfortunately for Mr. Mauler, multiple superheroes arrive at the scene to arrest Mr. Mauler.
Alternate Mauler Twin[]
Invincible[]
The alternate Mauler attacks Invincible as he believes that Invincible had ripped off the head of his clone. The Mauler tells Invincible that his life is ruined by the Viltrumite Empire and Invincible, so the Mauler plans to kill Invincible to get revenge. The Mauler calms down once Invincible reveals that he has no intentions of harming the Mauler. The Mauler helps Invincible create a body for , so that can take over the Viltrumite empire as Invincible. The Mauler eventually realizes that he is talking to a different Invincible, making the Mauler trust Invincible even more.
The Mauler admits that he initially wanted to kill Invincible before the Mauler learned that he just met a different Invincible. The Mauler reveals to Invincible that he wanted to rule the world because he believed the governments to be incompetent in ruling the world. The Mauler only wanted to restore law and order to the world which makes Invincible trust the Mauler. Both the Mauler and Invincible eventually finish in creating a body for . Unfortunately the Viltrumites have arrived to attack the Mauler and , but in the end Invincible, the Mauler, and succeed in their plan.
Alternate Rudolph Conners[]
The Mauler helps Rudolph Conners gain a new body, so that Rudolph Conners can take over the Viltrum Empire. However, Rudolph Conners is highly paranoid towards the Mauler, so Rudolph Conners asks Invincible to watch the Mauler, so that the Mauler can cooperate in their plans. The Mauler is able to have Rudolph Conners be cloned into the body of Invincible. In the end the Mauler and Rudolph tell Invincible to not worry about them.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman strength: Because of their brutish size, it has been shown they have a super-human strength. It has been shown countless time they can carry solid objections or carry large military weapons like cannon and machine guns with little effort to it.
- Superhuman durability: Thanks to their brutish physiology, the Mauler Twins are highly durable. They can survive a point-blank gunshot or multiple beatdown from superpowered individuals.
- Genius-level intellect: Although they're jock like with their brutish size and strength, they have a genius level intellect to help them perform experiments as cloning them selves or surgery. The Maulers are also proficient in engineering, mind transfer, and genetics. They can also analyze a plan that led to their prison break.
