Macrophage are some of the many enemies found in the Ark: Survival Evolved franchise.
Biography[]
Macrophage are mutated version of Edmund Rockwell's cells that protect Rockwell from anything or anyone trying to hurt him. While the Macrophage can be ignored when it is not hostile it doesn't take much to turn this creature aggressive.
They are part of Rockwell's immune system and because of that the Macrophage is untamable. Any survivor that is harvesting for resources in Rockwell or trying to hurt him is seem as a threat to Rockwell's body and must be dealt with the way all cells deal with threats. However Rockwell's Macrophage are mutated making them nothing like regular cells and much more dangerous.
Rockwell's ability to create new life not only created new creatures but it also changed his cells turning them into some different kind of lifeform. They help keep Rockwell's body healthy making sure his body has no infection. While the Macrophage will not attack a survivor if they don't hurt Rockwell the Macrophage have shown to be extremely aggressive when they know that Rockwell has been hurt. While the Macrophage work hard at keeping Rockwell safe they are no the only lifeforms in Rockwell's body that protect him from intruders another lifeform that works to keep Rockwell safe from danger are the Summoners a creature that the Macrophage share a few similarities with.
