Chandelure is a Ghost/Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation V. In the 2011 Nintendo videogame Poképark 2: Wonders Beyond, Chandelier serves as a supporting antagonist. He is the leader of the attraction "Dance Inferno" and the Litwicks and Lampents. He can possess objects such as disco balls, show lights, and other things to attack opponents.
Biography[]
Poképark 2: Wonders Beyond[]
Sometime before the events of the game, Chandelure had to part ways with a friend, leading to him gravitating towards shiny and sparkly objects in order to cope with his loss. Sometime later, Chandelure was found by Darkrai, and became a part of his crew, gaining control over the Dance Zone in Wish Park.
Sometime later, Chandelure, alongside the rest of Darkrai's minions, have succeeded in luring over the denizens of Poképark into Wish Park, before brainwashing them with the various attractions the place has to offer. Zoroark, who was tricked by Chandelure into luring citizens over to Wish Park, realized the truth about the place and tried to go back and save the Pokémon trapped inside, but was caught before being able to escape. It's possible that Chandelure had a role in Zoroark's capture, seeing as he is the Zone's leader, but it's possible that another one of Darkrai's lackeys got to her first.
Later on, as Pikachu and his pals open up the path to Wish Park from the Arbor Area, they encounter a brainwashed Zoroark, who, after battling, warns the party of Chandelure, the head of the Zone. Snivy suggests that the party go after Chandelure himself.
Pikachu, Oshawott, and Snivy head over to Chandelure in order to force him to shut down his attraction. Chandelure refuses, and instead forces the trio to participate in "Dance Inferno". After the team manages to get through it unbrainwashed, Chandelure challenges the trio to a battle.
Chandelure has three moves in his boss battle: At close combat, he uses a spin-move, but if it hits before Chandelure starts spinning, it will turn into a Shadow Punch instead that does less damage. His second move is shadow ball, he launches multiple small shadow balls at the player. His 3rd and final move is when he calls on his minions, Litwick and Lampent, they have one move each.
Litwick can throw shadow balls about the same size as Chandelure's, the only difference is Litwick only throws one at a time while Chandelure throws five at once, they often do this at the same time.
Lampent's move is the spin-attack move; it works similarly to Chandelure's spin-move, except they are obviously smaller.
After the battle, Chandelure becomes furious, and swears revenge on the party right before Gothitelle shows up. Chandelure tries to claim the gang as his opponents, but Gothitelle refuses to let Chandelure attack the party any further, causing him to slink off. As Gothitelle silently leaves the party with a warning, the team rings the Wish Bell in the Dance Zone, returning all the Pokémon that Chandelure helped to brainwash back to normal.
During the ending of the game, Chandelure was nearly sucked into the Dark Vortex alongside the rest of Wish Park. Darkrai sacrifices himself in order to stop the Dark Vortex, saving Poképark, and Chandelure by extension, in the process.
During the post-game, Pikachu and his Pals can rediscover Chandelure in Wish Park, apparently having turned over a new leaf alongside the rest of Darkrai's gang, and is trying to turn Wish Park into the paradise Darkrai originally envisioned it to be. The party can then rematch Chandelure and befriend him, cementing him on a path towards good.
Pokkén Tournament[]
Chandelure appears as a fighter in all versions of Pokkén Tournament. It attacks by using fiery and shadowy attacks. Its Burst Attack is Final Flicker, in which Chandelure places its foe to sleep before attacking them with ghostly flames.
Super Smash Bros.[]
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Chandelure appears as an enemy in Smash Run. It attacks by using Fire-Spin to create a flaming vortex at the player, or Will-O-Wisp to shoot out three small purple flames that home in on the player. If hit by an attack with fire or darkness effect, whether it comes from the player or terrain, Chandelure receives a boost to its next attack.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Chandelure appears as a support spirit that makes the fighter resistant to lava floors. Its Spirit Battle is against Mr. Game & Watch on the Battlefield form of the Luigi's Mansion stage with a lava floor.
Personality[]
In Poképark, Chandelure is very arrogant and rude, as seen when Snivy talks back to Chandelure, he gets angry instantly, and after his defeat, he says sorry in a very insecure way to Gothitelle when she confronts him, being his leader, he feels he has to respect her, and he gets rejected.
He is also very prideful and takes very high pride in the reason that he is the leader of the Litwick family and his attraction.
He also constantly underestimates the "kids" because they are younger than him.
In the post-game, Chandelure has mellowed down quite a bit, and is much more affable towards the party. He, alongside the others, seems to be remorseful for his actions over the course of the game, and is working to make Wish Park into a paradise for everyone to enjoy.
Chandelure seems to take interest in shiny objects, as the Dance Zone in Wish Park is completely covered in dazzling lights. His Poképark Pad entry states that he got this affinity in order to deal with the departure of a friend of his.
