For the character in Sonic Underground, see Jack (Sonic Underground).

Hold up, Captain. With everyone distracted down here, we could make a serious run at that rock. And with that kind of treasure, we wouldn't just be legends, we would be pirate kings!

— Jack, "The Devil Is in the Tails"

Jack[1] is a character that first appears in the animated series Sonic Prime. He is a pirate raccoon who is the captain of Knuckles the Dread's old crew.

Appearance[]

Jack is an anthropomorphic raccoon with maroon fur, along with dark brown and light brown fur, green eyes and white skin that covers his muzzle.

For attire, he wears black boots, black gloves and a black pirate bandana with a Chao symbol and a cross on it.

History[]

Past[]

Years ago, Jack was originally one of the members of Knuckles the Dread's old crew. During a storm, his captain was trying to look for the "Devil's Lighthouse". Getting close to precarious obstacles, he and the others begged Dread to change course, to which the captain denied their request.[1]

After the ship crashed, Jack took in the crew in a boat, except Dread after seeing that he was selfish and did not care for him and the others. He then became the captain of his old crew.[1]

Season one[]

Jack's crew looted the Angel's Voyage crew once again, only to encounter Sonic who eventually defeated their crew. Jack decided to cut their losses and leave with his crew.[1]

Season three[]

When the Shatterspaces began to collapse, Jack joined the Resistance in New Yoke City, and stayed at the Yoke HQ for protection.[2] When Sonic entered The Grim to talk to Nine, Jack and the rest teleported there to assist Sonic in battle, fighting alongside all of Sonic's friends. He later followed Rebel's plan to try to reach the top of Nine's Citadel, alongside Dread, Batten, Catfish and Froggy. Their mission was unsuccessful.[3][4] Some time later, Jack persuaded Dread to make a run and steal the Paradox Prism from Nine from the top of the Citadel. Upon seeing Black Rose struggling against Grim Amy, Dread left Jack behind to help Black Rose, with Jack continuing his way up.[5]

He would then be seen watching the Gateways being restored.

Personality[]

Jack is a edgy and eager person, he does what's beneficial for him and his crew. He wants to be treated right but takes advantage of Dread. He also likes Sea Dogs. Although he can be helpful to others, he mostly does so to take opportunity to get what he wants, even if he has to team up with old foes, such as Dread. Jack is also a hypocrite as he has no problem abandoning his crew for treasure despite leaving Dread for the same reason.

Relationships[]

Knuckles the Dread[]

You showed us that you don't care, Captain.

— Jack, "It Takes One to No Place"

At first, Jack only thought of Dread as his boss, following orders when he was told. But after the ship crashed, he now dislikes him and takes a vantage of his sad state by looting his new crew. Despite this, he is willing to team up with Dread in certain situations if it is beneficial to either both of them or mostly himself.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

After getting beaten and humiliated by Sonic and the Angel’s Voyage Crew, he now dislikes Sonic but also scared of him. Despite this encounter, he was saved by Sonic once during the final showdown against Nine. Jack had at least some gratitude towards Sonic.

Squad Commander Red[]

During the battle in the Grim, Jack recently has some friendship with Squad Commander Red, she helped and protect him from the Grim Big and Grim Troopers, proving and hinting that they're best friends.
