History[]

TV series[]

Season two[]

Chaos Sonic was created as a result of an interrogation Mr. Dr. Eggman performed against Tails Nine. When the doctor asked how to defeat Sonic, Nine said the Chaos Council could not, as they didn't think like Sonic, and had no hope to understand him. This inspired the doctor, who harnessed the power of three Prism Shards to create Chaos Sonic.

After Chaos Sonic was built, his first and primary objective was to defeat Sonic for the Chaos Council.[2] During his battle with Sonic, Chaos Sonic taunted him and lay countless blows to him. During the fight, Renegade Knucks got involved before Sonic raced Chaos Sonic and soon managed to subdue him by making him get hit by a bus. However, this didn't last long, as Chaos Sonic soon caught up to his organic counterpart before he could reach Tails Nine. He managed to hold his own against the combined efforts of Sonic, Rebel Rouge, and Knucks, but was lured to the Mother Ship's lab by Sonic, just before Nine fired a Shard-powered beam to ultimately destroy him. Chaos Sonic's remains were later discovered by Dr. Babble, prompting the robot's head to utter one last quip before shutting down and dying.[3]

Season three[]

During the third season, Chaos Sonic was succeeded by the Grim series of robots that Nine builds in his image, and particularly by Alpha Grim Sonic. His personality is not present in the Grim robots in any capacity.[4]

Personality[]

DoubleTrouble4

Chaos Sonic showing off his sparky personality, from "Double Trouble".

Having been made to think like Sonic, Chaos Sonic shared several of his personality traits. However, he was an unflattering imitation, specifically only possessing magnified versions of Sonic's more negative attributes: being cocky, overly talkative, competitive, and uncooperative. He was also shown to be sadistic and psychotic.

His extreme arrogance was his most prominent trait, and he constantly bragged and claimed himself superior to Sonic. He even thought of himself as the "new" version of him, aiming to destroy and replace what he considered his inferior predecessor. While he quipped and taunted in a similar manner to Sonic, even borrowing specific lines of his, his taunts had a more sadistic edge to them.

He was also very mocking, imitating Sonic and showing interest in making promotional material of him to get under his skin, and showing the belief that friendship is a weakness.

Powers and abilities[]

As a robot who was supposed to be built at the same level as Sonic the Hedgehog, Chaos Sonic could travel at the same speed. He also had enhanced strength and is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, being able to fight Renegade Knucks, Rebel Rouge and Knuckles the Dread at the same time. He was also durable enough to withstand being hit by a bus and the attack from two Knuckles. He was also able to rotate his head 180 degrees to look behind him. And because he was programmed to be like Sonic, he tended to mock Sonic in the same annoying fashion that Sonic commonly does.
