Birdie is a character that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. She is a giant Flicky that is the pet and friend of Thorn Rose.
Appearance[]
Birdie is a giant hawk-like Flicky with pink feathers on most of her body, white feathers on her neck, inner wings and tail, blue feathers across her brown eyes with a short, thick eyelash on each eye, yellow cheeks, brown eyes, and a yellow beak and legs.
History[]
Past[]
Birdie had been accompanying Thorn for an unknown period of time. She was already with Thorn when she realized the Scavengers were draining much of the jungle's resources and stood by her side when and helped kick them out of the jungle.
Season one[]
Birdie and Thorn face Sonic, from "Unwelcome to the Jungle".
Birdie would accompany Thorn Rose to protect the jungle from the Scavengers. Birdie would chase Sonic when he entered the jungle and managed to defeat Birdie. Later, Thorn Rose would arrive to help Birdie, being able to defeat Sonic and capture him. When Sonic escaped the cage, he tried to convince Thorn to stop, but the Scavengers would attack Thorn in the middle of her realization, making her snap back to her negative side. Sonic would lure her to destroy the tree she cherished, making her realize the error of her ways and letting her accept Sonic and the Scavengers back into the jungle. During all this, she took a liking to Sonic.
Season two[]

Birdie still accompanies Thorn when she finds her hammer with the green Shard on it, where they find the vine Sonic tripped on. After finding it, Birdie swallows the Shard to keep it hidden inside her. She helps Thorn fight the Eggforcers that attacked and destroyed some trees of the Boscage Maze. She is still with Thorn and Sonic when the two of them engage in a fierce fight against Dr. Babble and the Eggforcers. Eventually, the Scavengers come down to help, which makes Thorn happy. Despite all their efforts, the Council is able to steal the Shard.
Some days later, Sonic returns to the Boscage with Nine and their makeshift Shard Case. They meet with Thorn and Birdie, and Sonic asks Thorn for help. She accepts and starts fighting and defeating Eggforcers while flying on Birdie, leaving a big impression on Rusty and Black Rose.
Season three[]
When the Shatterspaces start collapsing, Birdie and Thorn go to New Yoke City to help its citizens. They reside inside the Chaos Council's base for a while. Birdie and Thorn join Sonic, Black Rose and Rusty Rose on a rescue mission to No Place. Birdie is seen fighting some Grim Birdies by herself, and of course, helping Thorn too. When they accomplish their mission, the heroes go back to New Yoke.
Birdie carries a very weak Sonic, from "From the Top".
Birdie and Thorn travel to The Grim with everyone to protect Sonic from Nine. Birdie is of big help, helping Thorn all the way through. She also catches Black Rose and Rusty Rose when they jump from a destroying ship, she also happy when Thorn considers Black and Rusty as her sisters and helps them in the war. Once the big fight is over, Birdie and Thorn carry a weakened Sonic to Green Hill. However, Birdie gets hurt by some moving crystals, and starts losing altitude. Luckily for her, the other Roses were there to catch her and save Sonic. She then gave Sonic a warm smile as she bid him goodbye as he and Shadow left for Green Hill.
Personality[]
Birdie is extremely loyal to Thorn Rose and really cares for her and people that are close to her. Being a wild animal, she is fierce and follows her animal instincts. When she knows a stranger has good intentions, she warms up to them, but when she knows they mean harm, she will help Thorn fight them. Like most animals and pets, she often reflects the emotions of her owner.
Powers and abilities[]
Birdie has the ability to fly using her wings. Despite not having super speed, she is fast enough to be ahead to Sonic. As shown in Season 2, she has a strong stomach, as she had the Green Shard in it and she didn't feel pain on the inside. Her large size also makes her very strong, as she was able to knock down a couple of Eggforcers with ease, but was unable to get them off when they held her down.

Thorn Rose[]
Birdie is Thorn Rose's pet and animal friend. She is extremely loyal to Thorn and follows her anywhere she goes. Birdie will let Thorn hop on her for transportation when she needs. Birdie helps Thorn fight their enemies without hesitation, she also refuses to leave her side, especially when she is sad. After Thorn becoming hostile to her former friends, Birdie became her only friend, creating a strong bond between the two.
Sonic the Hedgehog[]
While at first hostile at Sonic, she took a liking to him later on. She then helped Sonic on several occasions. She trusts Sonic enough to let him use her as transportation.
