The compass is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures. It is a compass used to track down the Master Emerald and uncover it.

Description[]

Appearance[]

The compass is a small golden sphere surrounded by four rings with writing and seven small gems, their colors corresponding with the Chaos Emeralds. The rings are able to rotate freely around the sphere. When aligned together, the rings form a disk with an engraving of the Master Emerald on it.

Features and abilities[]

The compass is capable of leading its wielder to the Master Emerald's resting place on Earth: the Labyrinth. In addition, when inserted into the recess on the island near the Labyrinth, the compass can make the Labyrinth reveal itself from its hiding place underneath the Pacific Ocean.

History[]

Film series[]

Past[]

Ages ago, after the Master Emerald was hidden on Earth, the compass was hidden away within an owl temple in the Siberian mountain.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2[]

Years later, the compass was uncovered by Sonic and Tails when they managed to find the owl temple in the Siberian and Sonic solved the puzzle on the owl statue containing the compass. However, soon after, Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles arrived. Following then a brief struggle, Sonic tried passing the compass over to Tails, only for Robotnik to snatch it from the pair.

Using the compass, Robotnik and Knuckles were able to find the temple containing the Master Emerald near an island in the Pacific Ocean. There, Knuckles opened a pathway to the temple by placing the compass in a stone indentation hidden on the beach.
