Roadhouse Thug: We don't like your kind around here.
Sonic: Our kind? What kind is that?
Roadhouse Thug: ...Hipsters.

— Roadhouse Thug and Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog (film)

The Roadhouse Thug[1] is a minor antagonist that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and its spin-offs. He is a human and aggressive bully who patronizes the Piston Pit.

The Roadhouse Thug is an adult human with a hefty, solid build. He has peach skin, bald head, a grey beard, and blue eyes. For attire, he wears a black shirt, a thin and striped jacket, blue jeans, and brown shoes.

The Roadhouse Thug with his gang, from Sonic the Hedgehog (film).

One night, while hanging out at the Piston Pit with some friends, the Roadhouse Thug noticed Sonic and Tom Wachowski. Annoyed by their presence, he angrily told them that he and his friends did not like hipsters, heavily implying that he wants them to leave. However, Sonic responded by trying repeatedly to smash a bottle on the thug's head, but to no effect. After a few seconds of this, the thug lost his temper and attempted to punch Sonic, only for Sonic to dodge, causing him to hit Tom instead. The whole bar subsequently broke out into a riot, and the thug continued to try to fight Sonic. After Sonic landed a series of harmless punches on the thug, the thug ran towards Sonic, who used his super speed to get out of the way and put a stuffed bear head over the thug's head, causing him to charge blindly through a window, injuring his neck.

The next morning at the Piston Pit, the thug was questioned about Sonic and Tom by Agent Stone, but the thug refused to cooperate. Dr. Ivo Robotnik then stepped in, prompting the thug to try to intimidate him. However, the thug learned the hard way that Robotnik is too tough to handle, as Robotnik furiously throws him through the same window again, putting him in more pain.

Comics[]

Sonic the Hedgehog: The Adventures of Sonic & Donut Lord[]

While in the Piston Pit, the Roadhouse Thug had his hat taken from him by Sonic. The thug aggressively demanded his hat back, but Sonic used his speed to dodge the thug and put a stuffed bear head over his head. The thug struggled to get the bear head off, and eventually succeeded, but was left disorientated from the experience, enabling Sonic to escape with Tom.[2]

Personality[]

The Roadhouse Thug is a very rude and aggressive man, tending to use intimidation to get what he wants. Possessing a short fuse and a foul temper, he is also quick to resort to violence and strongly dislikes hipsters, though he seems to be inherently hostile towards people in general, refusing to help Agent Stone and Dr. Ivo Robotnik find Sonic and Tom despite deeming the latter two hipsters.

Powers and abilities[]

Although he is a normal human with no powers, the Roadhouse Thug possesses above-average strength, able to knock Tom back with a single punch. He can't deal with Dr. Ivo Robotnik however, as shown when he is thrown out of the window.
