Just like I like it, and I already knew that Pepper will never let me down. When you experience heart palpitations while reading, you can be sure you've got yourfelf a winner. This is a Third instalment in the series and you have to read Pennies and Dollars before reading Hundreds. This time, we get to explore more of Elder's and Pim's backgrounds... and we kinda really get into their heads through their inner monologue. They are two quite complex characters you can't get enough of. Emotional rollercoaster at its best. Your mouth will be left open half of the time. I won't reveal anything else, because I hate when spoilers ruin my reading experince. One thing that is driving me insane are the cliffhangers, and yes, this one ended with one one... yet again. You can't tell what is going to happen next. She keeps you in your toes the whole time.
I don't want to spoil anything, because there will be five books in the series and each one ends in cliffhanger, so you really need to start from the very beginning. The worst part is the fact that we have to wait for next book to be published... damn it! Anticipation is so very bitter sweet for me. Pepper Winters books are addictive. Very, very addictive. Since, I've read almost everything she's ever written, I can honestly say that this is one of her best works. I was mesmerised from the moment I picked this up, and I'm no stranger to reading books in one sitting,but when it comes to Pepper, I read it basically in a few hours. It kept me on the edge of my seat. If you're a fan of her writing, you understand where I'm coming from. Her works are like nothing you ever read before. When I think about dark romance authors, she is the first one to pop up in my mind.
One of my go to reads are dark, disturbing, gritty and angsty romance books. There are a very few authors who actually deliver quality dark romance, and this one is AMAZING. I don't intend to write about the plot, because I don't won't to ruin it for others, but I will say that it will f**k with your head. The characters are complex and you never know what you'll read on the next page. It was unpredictable and that is always a huge plus. Wow... this book sucked me in right from the start. God, it's been sitting on my Kindle for three whole months! I have no idea why I haven't picked it up earlier. My mistake... If you like reading about murder, secrets, passion, undeniable chemistry and damaged heroes, then look no further! This book has it all!
It was not as dark as I initially thought it's gonna be, but let's just say it's dark-ish, full of twist and one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. One thing I really liked, and I have to mention is D.H. Sidebottom writing. Pure fact that some of the scenes that would normally be quite hard to process (rape/violence) were written with such good taste and not very descriptive. Sometimes such scenes should just be kept unwritten and left to the imagination of the reader, and that is exactly what this author did.
So, this is another 5 star read for me, and I can't wait to see what else D.H has in store! :) ...more

I don't know how I feel about this book. This is some f**cked up s*it! I was also in conflict with my thoughts weather to give this book a 3 or 4 star rating. In the end, I went with 4 because this author is really, really good. Technically, there isn't a one thing about the writing style that I didn't like. Usually, this is one of my favourite genres - adult dark erotic novel. I've read loads and loads of books with the similar subjects, but I have to be honest and say that I struggled with a few points in this story.
First of all, heroine's age (18)... way too young for my taste. Severe case of Stockholm syndrome, where teenage girl (Nora) starts to express empathy and love towards her captor (Julian). In real life, we could interpret it as a survival mechanism, but not here. Nora falls for this guy completely and utterly and in the end even decides to give him another chance and accepts to flee the country with him leaving her parents and friends behind. Just to be clear, Julian is one sick, sadistic mother**er. When you scratch the surface, you get some answers and begin to understand his motives and the reasons why he is what he is, but that can't justify the fact that he kidnapped and repeatedly raped the girl! I will continue with the rest of the series because I want to find out what happens next.

Yet another great, dark read by Tillie Cole! At times, quite disturbing and brutal, but still captivating. I just love Scarred souls series, and I can't wait for the continuation of the story. Ravage is the book three in the series. I am not so sure that you can read this a standalone, so I strongly recommend to read the books in order. Trust me, you won't be sorry. It took me some time to get into the hero and heroine, and their relationship. So, since Ravage picks up where Reap has ended, in Reap, we learned that Zaal's sister is alive, and this is where Tillie takes us this time. Her name is Zoya, and she lives cut off from the world for the past twenty years, hiding in an apartment in NYC. I love the Tille's style and writing, and she sure didn't disappoint this time. I loved reading about all other characters (Luca, Kisa, Zaal & Talia) from the previous books. So, if you are into some good old dark romance, full of suspense, this one is for you. I highly recommend it! ...more

OMG! This was intense. I am suffering from a serious book hangover. This story gripped me from the start. I literally devoured it! I've read my fair share of dark reads in the past but this one was just... unique. WOW! This was exactly what I needed. In the past few months, I've read too many hearts and flowers romance novels, and this was an escape from my "usual" genre.
The Sect was my first read from Courtney Lane, and boy, lady is a freakin' genius! I need to read more of her books. How to describe this book? It is most definitely an erotic thriller, but it's also so much more. Twisted, demented, f***ed up, I could go on and on... Not every dark read that deals with similar topics (kidnapping, sexual slavery, violence) can be so ruthless, captivating and brutal. If you think you can handle that, then go for it!
I don't want to give anything away so I will just patiently wait for a sequel (there is no cliffhanger at the end of this one though) and say that I highly recommend it!
