So, that being said, I have to say that this was a DNF for me. Totally predictable. Rich millionaire, poor waitress/stripper, insta love and secret pregnancy. Plot I got to read so many times before. Sex scenes were not sexy at all... dirty talk was just... big fat NO. Main hero calls heroine "Darling girl"... so annoying. I mean, who talks like that? Nobody. I felt no real connection between two main characters and their reactions to certain situations were borderline childish.

I was a bit disappointed with her last book, so I was quite cautious when I started reading Ramsay. The thing with this one was that it was pretty predictable second chance love story, and I had a feeling I already read books with similar story line, but I can't help myself, I love Mia's writing and characters she creates... plus, our main hero is Irish. Yep, I love it! :) ...more

If you loved Christian Grey (no BDSM here though...), Jesse Ward, Gideon Cross or Malcolm Saint, I'm guessing you will probably like Richard VanRyan too. This is a rich guy/poor girl pattern I can't seem to get enough of. Call it my guilty pleasure. I really liked it!...more
UNIQUE AND HEARTBREAKING! How far would you go to save the ones you love?
Wow... this book sucked me in right from the start. God, it's been sitting on UNIQUE AND HEARTBREAKING! How far would you go to save the ones you love?
Wow... this book sucked me in right from the start. God, it's been sitting on my Kindle for three whole months! I have no idea why I haven't picked it up earlier. My mistake... If you like reading about murder, secrets, passion, undeniable chemistry and damaged heroes, then look no further! This book has it all!
It was not as dark as I initially thought it's gonna be, but let's just say it's dark-ish, full of twist and one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. One thing I really liked, and I have to mention is D.H. Sidebottom writing. Pure fact that some of the scenes that would normally be quite hard to process (rape/violence) were written with such good taste and not very descriptive. Sometimes such scenes should just be kept unwritten and left to the imagination of the reader, and that is exactly what this author did.
So, this is another 5 star read for me, and I can't wait to see what else D.H has in store! :) ...more

This goes straight to my favorites shelf... it was that good! I found this gem completely randomly. If you like darker, suspenseful reads, cocky hero and you don't have a problem with a bit of cheating in novels, trust me and pick up this book! This story brings love/hate relationships to a whole new level. Although hero was a complete asshole at times, there was something about him... God! I really don't want to reveal too much, so all I can say is that I highly recommend it! :) ...more
I am mind blown! Damn! Can you truly recover from your first heart break? This is a story of second chances, one true love and redemption.
Yes I do loI am mind blown! Damn! Can you truly recover from your first heart break? This is a story of second chances, one true love and redemption.
Yes I do love you as much as I hate you.
I say this every time, but this is the exact reason why R.K. Lilley is one of my favorite authors. Love is war is one of her best works. Emotional turmoil at its best.
I do love some good ol' love hate relationships. Love really is war. So many secrets, lies and revelations. Imagine a strong bond between two people. They love as much as they hate each other. Their dialog basically changes from poisonous words to caring and passionate. On top of that you still have that hot smut action.
Ok, so this book picks up right after Breaking him and is not a standalone. After that huge cliffy in previous book I wanted to throw my Kindle against the wall. Literally. I made a huge mistake by reading Breaking him before Breaking her was out. My bad, and I won't do it again (at least that is what I keep telling myself each and every time). I didn't get any answers to my questions (whole book was one big mystery to me), zero, zip, zilch, nada!
You never get to stop loving me.
It's hard to write any kind of review without revealing too much, because this book... my God... at on point I had no idea what was happening. At around 60%, we finally get some answers.
I still feel like there is a lot more going on and like Dante's and Scarlett's story is not done yet. I kinda hope, R.K. will write something more... just a tiny glimpse into their lives post war.
