“ | Pick these up and start dancing! If you finish the dance, your attack power and speed will increase! | ” | — Kirby Fighters 2 loading screen tip |
Cheer Pom-Poms are an item that can appear during battles in Kirby Fighters 2. When picked up, the user begins to dance, and if the dance is finished without interruption, the user and his teammate(s) will be given a speed and attack power boost for a little while. The item itself resembles a giant purple and silver pom-pom, but when picked up, shrinks down to match the hands of the dancer.
Use[edit]
Cheer Pom-Poms are activated by touching them. When doing so, the fighter immediately puts his weapon away and starts dancing to the beat of a cheerleader-style musical routine. While dancing, the fighter can only move left and right and jump once off the ground, making him vulnerable to potential attacks from rivals. If he is hit three times by any attack while dancing or hit by a stage hazard once, he will drop the pom-poms and have to pick them up again to restart the dance. After dancing for about 5 seconds without interruption, the dance finishes with a brief standstill and two effects are applied to the fighter and any of his teammates. The first of these is a glowing blue aura that grants a Dash Shoes-like speed boost (which cannot stack with or be overridden by Dash Shoes themselves). The second is a reddish aura that increases the damage of all attacks by 50%. This dual effect lasts for over 10 seconds and then ends.
In Story Mode: The Destined Rivals[edit]
In Kirby Fighters 2's Story Mode: The Destined Rivals, there is a story item called the Quick-Cheer Sticker. When selected, Kirby and his buddy can conclude Cheer Pom-Pom dances faster and gain double attack power from the bonus it provides.
