Battle Arena is one of the ten battle types in Kirby Battle Royale, and one of three that can be played in the demo, the others being Apple Scramble and Crazy Theater. It is the most basic of the battle modes, where contestants must KO all of their opponents in a simple circle-shaped arena. The last contestant (or team) standing wins.

Rules and gameplay[edit]

Battles can be played either Solo (free for all) or on Teams. Contestants are tasked with defeating their opponents in straight-up combat, by attacking them with their various Copy Ability moves until their health is depleted.

When a contestant runs out of health, they are knocked into the ground, and cannot fight further. However, if the match as a whole is still undecided, that defeated contestant can mash out of the ground, and rejoin the fray with a fraction of their original stamina. If they are knocked out again, however, it will take longer to mash out than previously.

Once a single contestant (or team) is left undefeated, the game is over, with the undefeated contestant(s) declared the winner.

If a battle starts to drag on too long, Time Bombs start dropping into the arena. It starts one at a time, then two, and so on until a victor is decided.

In Dedede's Cake Royale, there are a small number of special fights, including 1v1 battles, and a 1v3 battle near the end.

Stages[edit]

There are two stages available for Battle Arena, though they differ only in their aesthetics. They are as follows:

Deluxe Coliseum			A lavishly decorated arena, with a polished stone floor in many bright colors and flags and drapes adorning the walls and rafters. In the Cake Royale, this stage is always used in Qualifier Battles and the 1-vs-3 battle with King Dedede and two Soldier Waddle Dees.
Battle Coliseum			A stony gray arena with mainly purple hues, and torches adorning the walls. This stage is available only in Dedede's Cake Royale, used for regular League Battles.

Battle Bonuses[edit]

The following Battle Bonuses can be awarded in Single Player or local Multiplayer Battle Mode:

• Charge Attack Captain: Performed the most charge attacks!
• Damage Dealer: Dealt the most damage!
• KO Chief: Knocked out the most opponents!
• KO Speedster: First to knock out an opponent!

Battle rules[edit]

• Defeat rivals to win

• How to KO rivals
  To knock out rivals, attack
  them until their health hits zero.
• Recovering from a KO
  Press A repeatedly to wake up
  if KO'd. The more you faint,
  the longer it takes to recover.

In the Kirby novel series[edit]

Kirby wins the match by defeating Bomb Kirby.

In the Kirby novel series, a match of Battle Arena takes place in Kirby's Decisive Battle! Battle Royale!!.

During Dedede's Cake Royale, Kirby and Waddle Dee fight a Bomb and a Beetle Kirby copies in a match of Battle Arena. Waddle Dee tries to distract the Kirby copies, but they continue to focus on Kirby. Kirby fights the copies but doesn't manage to do any damage to them. When Bomb Kirby throw a bomb at Kirby, Waddle Dee jumps in its way and gets hit, knocking himself out. Kirby tries to hold himself against his two enemies, barely managing to stay conscious. However, after Beetle Kirby tosses the unconscious Waddle Dee aside, Kirby enters a fit of rage and a new strength fills him. He quickly defeats Beetle Kirby and Bomb Kirby, winning the match.

Trivia[edit]

• This battle mode is featured the most in Dedede's Cake Royale, with 17 League Battles devoted to it.
