Zabine Chareux is the commander of the Crossbone Vanguard's elite Black Vanguard squadron and a supporting antagonist in Mobile Suit Gundam F91 as well as the secondary antagonist of Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam.
He is voiced by the late Kiyoyuki Yanada, who also voiced Tau Zant in Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger, in the original Japanese version and by James Lyon in the English dub.
History[]
Mobile Suit Gundam F91[]
After Berah Ronah was captured and taken back into the Ronah family to be used as a figurehead for the Cosmo Babylonia, Zabine was the one tasked with training her to pilot a Mobile Suit. Zabine soon grew close to Berah, seeing her as a worthy leader of Cosmo Babylonia.
Zabine and his Black Vanguard squadron later participated in the invasion of the Frontier I colony. During the fight, Zabine piloting his Berga Gilos fought Seabook Arno in his Gundam F91. Zabine's mecha was heavily damaged in the fight, forcing him to withdraw from the battle to get a new mobile suit.
However, Zabine wound up having to instead spend his time searching for Berah Ronah, who had defected from the Crossbone Vanguard to be with Seabook.
Mobile Suit Crossbone Gundam[]
After the event of Gundam F91, Zabine joined the new Crossbone Vanguard and became the second-in-command of the mobile suit squadron, lead by Seabook Arno, under the name of Kincade Nau, fighting against the Jupiter Empire. He also shown displeasure over the fact that Kincade, who is a civilian, is the commander of the squad and dislike the fact Berah's, the leader of Crossbone Vanguard forbid on killing enemy pilots. Nevertheless, Zabine still followed the principles of aristocracy. After serval conflict with the Jupiter Empire, he realized that Jupiter Empire's government follow the principles of aristocracy. Thus, he and his loyal followers defected to Jupiter Empire, trying to surrounder Berah as the peace offering, however, the Jupiter Empire only accepted Zabine and his X2 while other members of Crossbone Vanguard escaped.
In the Jupiter Empire, Zabine was tortured by Giri Gadeucca Aspis, who intended to prove Zabine's loyalty towards Jupiter Empire, after the Empire became sure of Zabine's loyalty, they gave him the modified X2 Kai and sent him to attack the Earth Federation's fleet in order to trick them into believing that Crossbone Vanguard attacked them. Eventually, Zabine found Kincade and fought him, the battle ended with Zabine defeating Kincade, sending the later into the Earth's atmosphere, seemingly killing him. However, Kincade survived the atmosphere re entry with the besm shield.
When the Jupiter Empire started to reveal its true colour, Kincade and the Crossbone Vanguard's members returned to space to fight against the empire. Zabine and Kincade would engaged in combat again. This time, Kincade stabbed the X2 Kai's cockpit with a heat dagger, killing Zabine as a result.
