The Trenchbillies are the titular main antagonists of the SpongeBob SquarePants episode of the same name.
They are a yokel family who put SpongeBob and Patrick to various trials then try to force the duo stay with them. They are lead by their head relative, Ma Angler.
Biography[]
After spending four days at Jellyfish Fields, SpongeBob and Patrick silently wait for the Jellyfish to move. It finally swim away and they chase it. Their plan is to have SpongeBob take one side and have Patrick take the other side. However, as the duo approach the Jellyfish, they end up colliding, which let's the Jellyfish escape.
The duo continue to chase the jellyfish. They accidentally fall off a cliff and end up landing county-like village. A bunch of the Trenchbillies corner the duo and capture them with a rope. They take them to Ma Angler, who states that they are "awfully perdy". Ma Angler orders the two to a initiation. SpongeBob and Patrick questions them and Ma. Angler sentences the duo to series of challenges, those being a banjo contest, a "hooting hollering", contest, and a wrestling match. SpongeBob and Patrick manage to win the first two challenges, however, they decline the third challenge because they don't like to wrestle.
Ma Angler gets surprised and asks the duo what they like to do for fun. SpongeBob states that they like to jellyfish. They show the Trenchbillies how to jellyfish and collide. Ma Angler enjoys this, and the other Trenchbillies laugh at the duo and call them dumb. Ma Angler proceeds to make the duo honorary Trenchbillies and gives them sets of novelty teeth.
SpongeBob gives a short speech and he and Patrick try to leave, however, they get stopped by a group of the Trenchbillies. They are told that they have to take care of Ma Angler for the rest of their lives. SpongeBob and Patrick try to convince the Trenchbillies to let them go, however, the Trenchbillies won't let them. Patrick manages to distract the Trenchbillies, long enough for him and SpongeBob to escape.
SpongeBob and Patrick burst through the door of the Krusty Krab. The duo tell Squidward and Mr. Krabs about what happened but Mr. Krabs is unconcerned until they reveal that the Trenchbillies followed them. SpongeBob and the others hide under a table while the Trenchbillies destroy the place in anger. They tell SpongeBob and the others to reveal themselves until Mr. Krabs nervously asks them for their orders, and they proceed to order food. Mr. Krabs is pleased with the business and tells SpongeBob to keep working. Soon Mr. Krabs notices Ma Angler eating a bunch of Krabby Patties and remakes that she will make Customer of the Year. Because of him making "goo-goo eyes" at Ma Angler, Mr. Krabs is forced to get married to Ma Angler. Mr. Krabs screams because of his fate and his friends congratulate him.
