Shimrra Jamaane is the main antagonist of The New Jedi Order series. He was one of the final Supreme Overlords of the Yuuzhan Vong during the Yuuzhan Vong War in which Yuuzhan Vong reached and invaded the Star Wars galaxy after leaving their home galaxy eons ago. In truth he was the puppet of Onimi, a Force sensitive Yuuzhan Vong who had taken control of Shimrra in the years leading up to the invasion.
Biography[]
At birth Shimrra Jamaane was named one of the candidates to possibly succeed Supreme Overlord Quoreal. Like all of the other candidates, Jamaane was doted on and given a first class education. He also became particularly vicious, murdering his own twin at the age of seven to eliminate a rival to the throne.
As the fleet approached the Star Wars galaxy, advance scouts reported the presence of a living world in the galaxy. Even though the fleet was in bad shape Quoreal decided it was enough reason to avoid the galaxy, and tried to direct the fleet away. Shimrra seized upon the discontent of the warrior caste and used it to overthrow and execute Quoreal and take the throne for himself.
He then led the Yuuzhan Vong on their invasion of the galaxy. During the next five years approximately 365 trillion sentient beings were killed due to the actions of the Vong. Various worlds were captured or destroyed, and the galactic capital world of Coruscant was also captured and Vong-formed.
With the living world of Zonoma Sekot entering into the war on the side of the Galactic Alliance and the Jedi Shimrra - who wasn't particularly stable to begin with, became even less so. Also the Vong were finally starting to rise up against him. Shimrra would not hesitate to have his own people killed to cover up his actions or merely because they had offended him in some way.
Finally a team led by Luke Skywalker, and Han and Leia's twins Jacen and Jania confronted the Supreme Overlord. The three were able to defeat the warriors who protected Shimrra. He soon engaged in combat with Luke Skywalker. Using his own lightsaber and that of his late nephew Anakin, Skywalker ended Shimrra's life by chopping off the Vong's head in a manner very similar to that which his own father used to end the life of Count Dooku nearly half a century earlier.
Using the power of the Force, Jacen Solo ended the life of Omini a short time later - killing the last true Supreme Overlord of the Yuuzhan Vong.
