Reiji Mizuchi is a major antagonist in Beyblade: Metal Fusion. He is a member of the Dark Nebula Organization and their second strongest blader after Ryuga. He waited in the shadows ready to battle Gingka and fill him with fear.
Personality[]
Reiji is a brutal and cruel fighter. He lives to fill others with fear and despair and does not understand friendship. He is willing to make kids suffer as shown when he upsets Yu and causes Kenta's beyblade to break. It is also clear that when Rejji was facing Kenta that he did not understand that Beyblade was fought using the bladers feeling and heart. This caused him to go insane and then unleashed his dark move again which destroyed Flame Saggittario.
Biography[]
Before being shown, Reiji watches Gingka battle. He desired to make Gingka afraid and wipe the smile off his face.
He first appears at the Battle Bladers Tournament, ready to battle Hyoma, with none of Gingka's group knew anything about him. During the battle, Reiji toys with Hyoma until his Beyblade, Serpent breaks Aries apart, much to the joy of him and Doji.
Later that evening, he battles the so called number two blader, Yu, as punishment for losing to Gingka. It's shown that Serpent can ride on Libra's sand to give it more speed. Right when Reiji was about to end the battle, Yu escaped.
When the second round begins Rejji is shown to be amused at the changes and gives Kenta a glare. Later after Ryutaro Fukami loses to Gignka in the second round, Doji tells Reiji that he will be taking care of Ryutaro. But the actual battle is never shown (it should have happened between episodes 43 and 44).
Back in Battle Bladers, Reiji has to face Kenta Yumiya. When the battle begins, Kenta tells Rejji that beyblade is something to be enjoyed causing Rejji to be confused. He starts out by following his usual strategy, but then begins to break off Flame Sagittario C145 S's claws one by one. However, Sagittario is not defeated this easily; Kenta, who has combined his Beyblade with Flame Libra T125 ES's Eternal Sharp Performance Tip for this battle, begins speaking of his friendship with Yu and the others, and his experiences with them are makes him this strong. At this point, Reiji finally gets angry for the first time, being unable to stand what Kenta is saying; his rage causes his real eyes to show between his hair. In this state of anger, Reiji begins damaging Sagittario more and wins by stopping Sagittario's rotation with his Dark Move. While this is his formal victory, Reiji declares that he is unsatisfied with his victory and continues to attack Kenta's bey in an effort to break him even more. In an attempt to protect his Beyblade, Kenta enters the arena himself; Reiji might have attacked (or even killed) the young boy, had it not been for Gingka Hagane's interference. Gingka demands that Rejji stop his path of cruelty. Reiji however declares that the bladers sprit is useless and he will prove it by beating Gingka.
As a result of this sudden turn of events, Doji announces that Gingka is selected as Reiji's next opponent in the semifinals causing Gingka to tell Rejji that he will take Kenta's place and beat him. Once the semi finals begin, Reiji reveals that the Dark Nebula has watching Gingka's battles in a secret research area filled with numerous screens. He always wanted to defeat Gingka and erase his love of friendship, as a form of proof that even a powerful Blader can be helpless in fear. As their fight goes on, it appears as if Reiji is about to defeat Gingka, who has seemingly turned to stone due to negative emotion. However, Gingka manages to break free and declares that he is still having fun battling Reiji. Reiji can't understand why Gingka is not afraid of him, starting to lose his composure and attack Pegasus again. Gingka finally finds an effective strategy - he blocks Reiji's attacks by successfully mirroring his movements; Reiji finally starts to feel fear himself as he notices that Gingka, who is still smiling, is about to win. He is therefore defeated, and has a complete breakdown, unable to comprehend or believe his loss and was unable to scare the other Blader; he then imagines himself ironically turning to stone by his own negative emotions.
The last time he is seen is on the ending picture of the season, angrily walking away from the other celebrating characters. It is currently unknown what happened to him after the events of Metal Fusion as he isn't seen in Metal Masters or Metal Fury.
