Jed Franklin is an antagonist in the Smallville novel "Whodunnit". He was the father of the Franklin family who was mysteriously murdered one day with him being the last surviving member.

Jed Franklin was arrested numerous times for protesting during his youth and when his father died, he inherited the farm and dropped out of college. At some point in his life, Jed became married and gave birth to his two children, Danny and Betty Franklin. They lived on a farm which they worked on full-time until Jed decided to get a job at LutherCorp but he later lost it. Due to being laid off on money, Jed was often seen drunk and said bad things about LutherCorp. He had so little money that he was unsure how to keep his family safe, something that made him desperate for some money.
Smallville: Whodunnit[]
One day, the cruel J.B. Bynes got his friend Rowen to help him kill the entire Franklin family and he lied to Jed and said that they were kidnapped just to get his cooperation in his plan. Jed, thinking his family was still alive, helped Bynes in his plot.
