Gryphonmon is a Mega Level Digimon which possesses the head, wings, and forelegs of a Bird Digimon, and the body of a Beast Digimon with a snake-like tail attached to it.

Gryphonmon has served as the minion of Millenniummon, where it was created by Kimeramon (who digivolved from Sakkakumon).
When the battle against Machinedramon ended with the explosion, Yamato, Sora, and Koshiro set out to stop Milleniummon's revival. When they arrived, Milleniummon created Gryphonmon and Vademon sent it to stop them, Yamato and MetalGarurumon decided to take care of it while Sora and Koshiro try to stop Milleniummon's revival. It was a tougher opponent, but Yamato and MetalGarurumon managed to destroy Gryphonmon, but not before they were too late to stop Millenniumon’s revival.
