8-Ball is a recurring character in the Grand Theft Auto 3D universe, acting as a supporting character in Grand Theft Auto III and Liberty City Stories, and the tritagonist in Grand Theft Auto Advance.
He is a young African-American man established in the United States whose local explosives is relevant between the early 1990s and the late 2000s. He is an explosives specialist capable of manufacturing, activating and deactivating them, this is evidenced in 1998 when he conspired and helped with Donald Love and Toni Cipriani to destroy Fort Staunton by means of a car bomb placed in the porter tunnels, In the year 2000 he associated with Mike whom he gave different jobs in exchange for helping to find Vinnie's murderer but in one of the ambushes of the Colombian Cartel he was arrested by the police. In 2001 he escaped with Claude from a police convoy and ventured the latter into the criminal world in the Leone family which was dismantled by Claude after the death of his leader Salvatore Leone.
He was played by late rapper Guru.

8-Ball was born and raised in Liberty City. His father was a hustler who often played pool, hence his nickname. By 1984, he started his business across the United States, including in Vice City (initially in Downtown and later in Viceport), in San Andreas (in El Corona, Los Santos) and in Liberty City (in Harwood, Newport and Pike Creek).

By 1998, 8-Ball had established contacts with various people in Liberty City, including businessman Donald Love, who sent Toni Cipriani to 8-Ball at his Pike Creek garage to fill a van full of explosives to be used to destroy the Fort Staunton district of Staunton Island.
Events of Grand Theft Auto Advance[]
In 2000, he helps old friend Vinnie by creating fake IDs that Mike collected. Mike returns to 8-Ball following the death of Vinnie and agrees to work for him whilst 8-Ball investigates Vinnie's death, saying he has some ideas of who was responsible. 8-Ball first has Mike dispose of Vinnie's body at the Harwood Autocrusher and Junkyard, as "they don't ask questions". Following this, Mike helps to pimp out three women to "high-rolling" clients, deliver a package to an angry customer, and extract revenge on Scorelli for 8-Ball. 8-Ball, with information from one of the prostitutes, sends Mike to meet a bartender, Jonnie. 8-Ball later meets Mike again in a diner, but the two are ambushed by the Colombian Cartel, who are looking to kill Mike following the death of leader Cisco. 8-Ball's hands are burned during the ambush and is unable to escape, telling Mike to do so before the police arrive.
Grand Theft Auto III[]
In the year 2001, 8-Ball was arrested and along with other prisoners he was going to be transferred to another prison with more security until in the middle of the road a cartel van hinders the convoy to kidnap the old oriental gentleman. 8-Ball and Claude take advantage of the situation to knock out some policemen and free themselves from the handcuffs, but at that moment a bomb that separates Staunton and Portland is activated, which causes the bridge to be totally destroyed, seeing that they only had one Kuruma car. with the doors open they decide to take it and as a recommendation from 8-Ball they go to a den to change their clothes so as not to attract the attention of the police, after that the two go to see a friend of 8-Ball named Luigi Goterelli who due to 8-Ball's recommendation decides to give Claude a job.
8-Ball is back in the bomb business moving from Shoreside Vale to Portland due to the current state of the bridges connecting the islands, in this time frame the player will be able to go to his factory to put a bomb in a car to create chaos and destruction in free mode. When Claude informs Salvatore Leone of the SPANK shipment that is there on one of the Colombian cartel's cargo ships, the mafia leader tells Claude to contact 8-Ball so that they can destroy the cartel ship along with their explosives. that he agrees if only Claude pays him the expenses that are needed in addition to protecting him from the cartel by planting the bomb since his hands are totally useless after accepting the conditions of 8-Ball, they do it ending with the SPANK ship of the sign. After that moment in which the manufacturer escapes in the middle of the explosion, he is not seen again throughout the game, leaving his fate unknown.
