Sophia Tan

Sophia Tan (소피아 탄, Sopia Tan) is a High Ranker, and one of the FUG Elders.^[1]

Appearance and Personality[]

She is lightly tanned, with pink hair and blue eyes. She is a very cautious person but is noted to be a hard-liner. Although she initially supported the other Elders into having Karaka kill Baam and acquire the Thorn during the Workshop Battle, over the years, Baam's improvement and feats have intrigued her, though she still refused to act to help him when approached by Hwa Ryun. However, after Baam proved his mettle by defeating the Test Ranker Pan, Sophia was the first to tell the Elders to get ready to provide Baam with the assistance he needs.

History[]

Sophia Tan was one of the Elders that opposed Twenty-Fifth Baam and tried to melt Baam and the Thorn together and intend to give the Thorn to Karaka during the 30F Workshop Battle. She opposed Baam because she distrusted Baam and thought him to be an amateur.^[1]

The Nest (Arc)[]

She is seen talking with another person over her Pocket about the conflict at the Wall of Peaceful Coexistence and Baam. After learning of the losses suffered by the Canine People, she notes how Khel Hellam's efforts to stop the war only caused him to be manipulated by Zahard. She says that Luslec hopes Baam will grow from the current challenges and if Luslec were to act now then a Family Head would intervene, resulting in all-out war and Baam losing his chance to get involved. She goes on to say that none of the Elders, including herself, trust Baam because he is an amateur and that is the reason why she tried to give Karaka the thorn. However, she admits that she and the other Elders will act once they're sure of Baam.

Hwa Ryun later notes that Sophia has taken an interest in Baam but still will not act when she reached out to her. After Baam's success in defeating the Test Ranker Pan, Sophia, no longer able to deny Baam the support he needs, prepares for the incoming battle.

The Second Defensive Wall (Arc)[]

On a flashback, she was shown to agree to go along with Hwa Ryun's plan about the Battle of The Nest. She later defends the giant needle, their only mean of escape after the war, from the attack of the 5th Army Corp's shinsu cannons.^[2]

The Ten Great Family Leaders (Calamity)[]

When The Cat Tower exploded after Lo Po Bia Fucile committed suicide, Sophia was shown to protect everyone with her Lighthouses as the entire structure exploding. She also teleported all of them to the outside and spread them all over the sky. At the same time, Sophia apparently subdued Hybrider and restricted its movement. After Lo Po Bia Whitegarment Widow saw Sophia, she agreed to cease fire and propose peace.^[3]

Powers and Abilities[]

As an Elder of FUG, Sophia Tan is extremely powerful. A testament to her immense strength was how Hwa Ryun enlisted her help during the Battle of the Nest, in which she was deemed fully capable of defending the giant needle from the 5th Army Corp's cannons, and upon single-handedly saving the entire FUG forces in the Cat Tower after it exploded.

Lo Po Bia Whitegarment Widow, one of the top 3 strongest Branch Heads of Lo Po Bia, described her as being exceptionally powerful and even stated that among the warriors fighting in the Nest, only Lo Po Bia Traumerei himself was more deadly and chose to avoid fighting her.

Lighthouse Skills[]

In battle, Sophia is an exceedingly powerful and skilled Light Bearer. She can control at least 50 Lighthouses for various powerful effects with ease.

Lighthouse Barrier[]

Sophia was able to conjure such an exceptionally powerful barrier that she was able to resist Traumerei's Shinwonryu - All Creatures for a brief period of time, long enough for the Family Head to leave and allow FUG to escape.

• Sophia Tan Lighthouse Control - Hexagon Crystal (소피아 탄 등대제어 육각정, Sopia Tan Deungdaejeeo Yuggagjeong): Sophia use at least 50 Lighthouses to form a massive round protective barrier around The Needle. The barrier looks different than ordinary barrier that normally generated by Lighthouse. It kinda resembles Enna Core's mystery sphere.^[2] As shown, this technique was powerful enough to defen against Lo Po Bia Traumerei’s Shinwonryu - All Creatures for a prolonged period of time, albeit Sophia herself admitted that eventually her barrier would be destroyed by the sheer vast power of the technique, as shown where her Lighthouses where gradually being destroyed, with only Traumerei deactivating the technique upon leaving the Nest saving her.

Lighthouse Flow Control[]

Sophia can perform the Lighthouse Flow Control to such an extent that just 5 Lighthouses completely restricted the movement of Hybrider to prevent the monster from attacking people.^[3]

Lighthouse Teleportation[]

Sophia's mastery and reaction time with Lighthouse Teleportation is so outstanding that with over 50 Lighthouses under her control, she can teleport over hundreds of people all at once in just seconds and keep them safe from harm or injuries. She managed to rescue hundreds of people inside The Cat Tower, both allies and enemies when the structure exploded.^[3]
