Sweet, sweet friends!

I've made so many amazing friends over these past few years.
And the neat thing about having a blog, sharing so much and what you create
folks tend to get to know what you love, what you're attracted to and
simply more about you!

Julie at Red Hen Studios has been a friend for years and messaged
me on Facebook and said she just left a yard sale that had the most
amazingly old glass glitter that made her think of ME!
She left it behind but wanted to know,
"Did I want her to go back for it?"
I replied as fast as I could, "YES!!!"
The whole bundle was only 10 bucks!

But isn't it wonderful how we all get to know each other?
Knowing that someone would love this...
could use that in their artwork, etc.
I love blogging. I can't help it. I just do!

It's such a wonderful, supportive community ~
you all have lifted me
you have encouraged me
and you have always, always cheered me on!
Makes me cry and makes me wish I could meet you all in person!

Here's the wonderful glass glitter Julie mailed me ~
My camera is getting old and simply
can't capture how beautiful it is but
maybe you will get an idea?

Isn't it AMAZING???
Now.
To think of something beautiful to make
to use this goodness on....

With our new soap store all fresh and new to us,
I've been trying to think up a few ideas
for our tiny speckled egg soaps!

Here's something that I came up with ~
I found this wonderful package of 25 white tulle circles at w-mart
and gathered three little eggs inside each circle
then used a few pieces of coordinating seam binding
to cinch each one up!
What beautiful party favors!!!
For showers, for luncheons, for bird lovers...etc.

And can't you just see the beautiful speckled ivory soap
gathered up with ribbon for wedding favors?

We're having a 20% OFF SALE on your entire purchase
for just a few weeks...just type in the coupon code "SUMMER"
when checking out if you should order any!!!

And we did add a few more goodies to the 1925 Farmhouse Goods shop too
if you want to take a peek!

I hope you had a wonderful July 4th weekend!!!
We were covered in rain, rain AND MORE rain here in Georgia.
I do believe we have mosquitoes the size of small birds right now!!!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday dear friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Why does everything look prettier under glass?

Whew!! I've been trying to post for the last 12 hours!
I wanted to share my latest little creations ~
A few decorated bottle brush trees....

This first one is housed inside of a tiny vintage baby food jar!
I love the jar...and now it has a new purpose ~
I think it stands about three inches tall!

I'm running out of vintage jars but had these beautiful tiny cloches and creamware saucers
and knew the trees would be pretty displayed with them ~
here's how my other two turned out:
They each stand about 7" tall including the glass cloche!

And here's the last one:

These were all special orders...
so on to a few more needle books that are orders as well!

I hope you are having a great Friday sweet friends,
and please know how thankful I am for you!!!!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Sweet littles ~

It's funny how sometimes when you're creating,
it flows so freely!
But sometimes, it's not like that ~
you're not happy with the way something is turning out....
But I will work with it and change things until FINALLY,
it pleases me.

This was one of those things....
but now I'm so in love with it!
Is it bad to love something you make?
I think not ~
maybe,
just maybe
someone else will love it too?

This is my very first bottle brush tree that I've bleached,
painted, aged, glittered and decorated.
And then I finally found the perfect old jar from my collection
to protect it!

Now in my Etsy store....

My other sweet "little" would be our precious granddaughter Clara ~
Just look at a few of the photos her mama took while she was
playing in the park.....

Can you see the tiny specks of nail polish left on a few of her small fingers?

She's an absolute ham you know....

Ahhh...the joy of being two and a half ~

If we could only remember that pure joy and bottle it!!!

Thank you so much for visiting me here ~
I treasure your comments!!

Have a beautiful Tuesday precious friends,
hugs and love,
Dawn

Mildred, age 4 ~

She's precious, isn't she?
I found her on Etsy, saw her beautiful smile
and knew you'd love her!!

Please use her in your artwork ~

I found something new at Michael's and just happen to have my handy discount coupon....
Martha has EVEN MORE glitter in her Christmas line!! This has the look of mica flakes without the dark tones that mica has ~ now I need to make another snowman!!

A sweet package arrived in the mail too!!
I won a giveaway on Cheryl's blog Zany Mayd!
Look at all of the wonderful treasures she sent....
see the teeny tiny watchmaker's bottles? Omygoodness!! precious!
Cheryl you are such a sweetheart!!!
And thank you so much for the gorgeous bird egg book..
it's so small and the illustrations are beautiful!
Thank you for each and every little thing Cheryl ~
(I'll be sure to scan some of the beautiful rose cards for you)

Life is good....we are all so blessed ~
I always want to be truly thankful
for all the good Lord has bestowed upon us....
And thank you sweet friends for stopping by to see me ~

Have a wonderful Monday!!
hugs and love, Dawn

A little peek ~

Someone is soon to make their debut....in a new tutorial at
Lessons from The Nest!!
A precious little snowbird ~

I wanted show you these amazing curtains I found while we were in the mountains ~ two pair, 96" long, and they are absolutely gorgeous to me!!!

They had never been used, old as dirt and still had a little paper inside of them telling how to care for them. Of course I washed them right away, they were a little dirty and were crisp like cardboard! Even if the stains didn't come out, I knew I could use the fabric....well, now they are this wonderful slinky, crinkled gorgeousness that I've GOT to figure out what to do with them!!

I would love to hang them on either side of the guest bed,
coming out from the wall on each side ~
but have to figure out how to do it!
I need those swing arm rods I guess :)

Plus I found a small bolt of scrim! I've been looking for this stuff forever ~ a little bit tighter weave than cheesecloth....this piece I washed to see how it held up ~

And here are two of my very favorite glitters for the holidays ~
Dear Dorthe....I want you to see the difference in the texture,
please click on the photo to enlarge.
I love them both and use them separately and also together!!

I love blogging. Can you tell? I love my friends that I've made here ~
You constantly bring sunshine to my day and always make me smile!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog
and always for your wonderful comments ~

Wishing you a very happy Tuesday sweet friends!
hugs and love,
Dawn

Did you know . . .

you can glitter just about anything?? Just like I said you can collage just about anything ~ the same holds true for the beautiful ultra fine clear glitter of Martha's. I bought these little bunnies before Easter and knew this is what I wanted to do with them. Then maybe cover a mache box, add a pretty crepe paper circle and place one of these on the top!

Well, this is as far as I got. But there's always next year, right? All you do is take it outside and if it has an opening on the bottom maybe stick a pencil or dowel rod inside and use as a handle and lightly mist spray glue all over. Then dust with the ultra fine glitter and instantly you have a sparkly little bunny (or whatever you choose!). I embellished this guy with a pink bow tie. Now I wouldn't try this on a fine collectible but pick something up a the thrift and see how you like the look!

I'm finally getting around to putting this little neckace on Etsy today. Created from an old watch face using the tinest snippet of lace and a 24" chain . . .

I've kept the road hot for the last couple of days so finally today I'm staying at home to get something made!!! It's already Wednesday ~ what is happening to the weeks? Have a wonderful day,

xxoo, Dawn
