Storm Commando armor was a type of armor worn by Storm Commandos of the Galactic Empire's special forces. The armor was designed to allow similar flexibility to the armor utilized by the Empire's scout troopers, but was reinforced to maximize protection against blaster fire and explosions. Both the bodysuit and laminate plates were coated in relfec polymer, allowing it to distort light and absorb sound, which made the wearer far more difficult to detect.[1]

The armor costed 5,000 credits, and the helmet was equipped with macrobinoculars, scanner goggles, and a comlink.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Imperial Storm Commando armor was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Gadgets and Gear, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] The armor was first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity as the Storm Commando armor in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a supplement to the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games in 1993.[3]
